Man there are no flashers... now what are we going to do for vd
I'm sure there's plenty of prostitutes you could pay if you really want vd.
yea but will they take psn cards
Depends on what area of a hooker you would use to redeem them.

Re: PS3 Repair and/or Death Thread

I just picked up a new PS3 Slim, revolution 2! (2101A). Gamestop Canada had a good promotion where they gave you an extra $50 for hardware trade ins. Plus they would give you $25 credit on any game ($8 min trade in value) towards a new console. So I traded my 60 GB fatty (still working good but after three years I was starting to worry about YLOD) with an original controller along with Uncharted and inFamous for a new slim. The original TIV on the 60GB was $125 so I only ended up paying about $80 after the trade in. I'm very happy.

One thing that annoyed me is that I did a system backup on my old PS3 and it won't restore all my stuff on the Slim. I lost almost all of my save files although it did keep my videos, images and themes. Oh well. I'm re-downloading all my old games, DLC, and some demos like NCAA 11.

One question - the new Slim sounds different when ejecting discs. It kind of rotates the disc out rather than just slide it out like my fatty. Is that normal? I love how quiet this baby is.

                Congrats Rudy, you will enjoy.

Yes, the disc tray is loud during eject of a disc.

Congrats on the Slim! And yes, that is perfectly normal. It caught me by surprise, too, the first time it happened. Had mine about a month now and absolutely love it.

Just got the YLOD on my 40GB fatty.....FANTASTIC.

I'll probably just buy a new slim instead of replacing it.

My 60gig fatty died on me about 2 weeks ago, trying to get the stuff I need to fix it. My computer went down about 2 months ago and I had to store some pics and vids on my PS3 to clear some memory cards for camera use. Now I just need to fix my fatty long enought to get the pics and vids off. The bad thing is I'm not sure when I will be able to get a new PS3. I am depressed, especially with NCAA right around the corner.

FYI - Gamestop gave me $125 store cred for non-working 60 GB PS3. I had already fixed it twice myself and wasn't willing to do it again. The 2nd time I repaired it, it luckily worked just long enough to transfer data to a new slim. I figured I might as well get something out of it. She also told me that they recently stopped taking broken 360s...they might stop taking the YLOD PS3s soon, too.

By the way, a functioning PS3 gets $205 right now (includes bonus $25 credit). For me, it was more worth it to just to take the trade now, as opposed to sending it in to Sony and getting it fixed ($150).

My PS3 will turn green when I first turn the power on, then turn off and have the red light blink repeatedly. Do I have the "yellow light of death"?
