Why?
I didn't really know where to post this. But it's just something that's been on my mind. Why is ps3 users so overlooked? I know it's like 60% XBOX 360 - 40% ps3, But still I've noticed this a while back like how EA on fight night round 4 has a lot of features 360 users can apply to their setting, But for the ps3 users we get the regular dusty settings. Then GTA releases the lost damned only for xbox 360 not to sound like im complaining or anything but I hope nba live 10 doesn't do this, Add all the new features for 360 only and leave the ps3 people hanging.Tags: None -

Re: Why?
The Xbox 360 is more like a computer, and is significantly easier to develop for. It's also been out a year longer, and the developers are more used to it.
And the Xbox 360 exclusive GTA content was secured by a $50 Million exclusivity contract for 2 episodes of downloadable content.
That's why PS3 sucks (I've had one since launch, and it's the worst $650 I've ever spent) =(Comment

Re: Why?
some of those features (like custom music and online features) are easy on 360 because it is already built into the machine and the devs just need to hook into it.
PS3 has been adding features over the years and they need to be programmed for by Devs which costs time and money and resources and headache.
be pissed at Sony not the devs as resources time and money are limited. again one of the reasons devs say that 360 is easier to develop for and was one of Microsoft's goals going into this generation form day 1.Comment

Re: Why?
Microsoft owns the patent for how custom soundtracks are delivered through a console. So while Sony can never have it as a system wide feature, developers have been able to code it into their specific games. That's the likely reason why EA left it out for the ps3 version of FNR4, since they'd have had to code the feature instead of using MS's method.some of those features (like custom music and online features) are easy on 360 because it is already built into the machine and the devs just need to hook into it.

But to the original post, the ps3 isn't being overlooked, it's just that the industry is ruled by 3rd party multiplatform games, and it makes sense to build those for the console with the most market share. Plus, MS will always be throwing down more cash this generation for exclusives or timed releases on games or DLC. The playstation brand is still pretty recognizable, and it seems like only a matter of time before the ps3 picks up some momentum. With Sony's stable of quality exclusives, it's still a shock that the only true exclusive killer app on the ps3 sales wise is MGS4, and that franchise kind of has a built in limit to its widespread appeal.Last edited by bkfount; 07-22-2009, 05:43 PM.Comment

Exactly. Last gen people were talking about how the Xbox was being ignored because devs were developing for PS2 and porting to Xbox usually...It's just flip flopped this time around.Microsoft owns the patent for how custom soundtracks are delivered through a console.
