360 freezing
hey guys i have had some issues over the past few days with my 360 freezing. the first time it did it was while sifting through rosters in madden but it has since done it in the dashboard as well as in game again. sometimes when it does it the screen becomes scrambled but not every time. i relocated it this morning thinking that the heat from my cable box might be causing it to heat up but it froze after that as well. i unplugged the unut this morning and will be gone for about ten hours total. if i still have issues tonight what are some suggesstions???---Tags: None -

You can add fans or you can point a household fan at the right side of your 360 adding air to the intake vents which helps push the hot air out of the back and keeps it cool. Check the thread on caring for your 360.Comment

I wouldnt waste my time with fans, because it sounds like the "damage" is already done. I would be willing to bet, that even if you start using fans, you will still get the RROD within a week or two. The only solution to this will be wait til you get the RROD and turn it into M$, or if it is out of warranty, you need to change out the xclamps with other hardware and take that cheap thermal paste off the GPU and CPU and replace with Artic Silver.Comment

I've been getting random freezes lately. A few different times while playing Madden games online and then this morning, it froze while playing Batman. I hope my system isn't about to have problems. Although I do have the warranty

Unfortunatly, you will be having to use that warranty before the end of the month. Are you getting any distortion along with the freezing? If you are, you box is on its way out.Comment

no external fans dont do that much. just keep it well ventilated and it should be fine. My friend had the RROD for the longest time, but then he took the external fan off and it stopped RRODing, worked fine ever since. So even at that, the RROD could be caused by external fans.Huskers | Chelsea FC | Minnesota United | OmahaComment

Ya, I've been having these same problems with my Elite. Started in Madden, but now is doing it in NCAA and even at the main menu. Every time its done this, the light on the power block has gone from green to reddish/orange. I've unplugged it, let it cool for a minute and plugged it back it. Its worked except for 2 times, first time I saw the 3 red rings..I quickly unplugged and tried again and it worked. Last night it did it again, but I couldn't get it to start back up...ugh...Wasted Penguins
