PS3 Slim ?????

For those who have the new PS3 Slim when putting in a disk & ejecting does clicking type noise happen?? I do know when putting/ejecting a disk on the Fatboy PS3 it was a quiet process. Thanks

For anyone who has the Slim how is the fan noise when playing BDs?

My current PS3 (I think it's an 80 gig - a little over a year old) is really loud when playing BD's - to the point where it really bugs the hell out of my wife. The fans kick in about 1/2 way through a BD move (or 10 minutes into a regular DVD) and its really noticeable.

My wife wants to ditch the PS3 and get a stand alone Blu Ray player, but I'd like to keep the Ps3 for exclusives. Anyways, if I trade my old PS3 for a slim and it's still loud my wife will kill me, so this is a life and death question. How loud is the slim BD's and DVDs?

for me the slims fan is wayyy less loud then the old ps3's its really really quiet and its a good purchase IMO

It's VERY quiet.

More so than my fat 160gig was, and that thing was quiet as hell too.

I'm about to go pick up my PS3 slim in about an hour. At Gamestop they will give you $150 if you trade in your old PS3. That did it for me. Impressions to come...

what firmware did you guys get with the slim i got 2.75 and updated to 2.80 and mine seems to be very hot on the bottom of the unit i don't know if it had to do with the update has anyone else experienced this

Mine kicks out a lot of heat from the back, but the unit itself it quiet as a mouse. I don't think the heat has anything to do with the firmware but rather that it's all put together in a small package compared to the old PS3's.

Is anyone else's slim kicking some serious heat out of the back of the unit?

I just played for about 3 hours and mine is barely warm, but it's in an extremely ventilated area near a window. Seems fine to me.
