    problems hooking up ps3

I have a ps3 at my house but didn't hook it up, at a friends house and we have a ps3 here and r trying to hook it up, we've got power but when we go through each video output nothing shows up, it has the wall jack plug, the hdmi plug and another plug I am guessing is for tvs that are not hd tvs, we've tried both as he has a hd tv but still nothing anyone have a clue what is up?

So you're getting no picture at all?

If you have an HDMI cord that should all you need (besides the power cord). Only thing I can think of is maybe you don't have the tv set on the right input (most HDTVs has 2-3 HDMI inputs and you have to set it to the right one).

I think you need to hold the power button down until you hear three beeps. It resets the resolution output on the PS3. Hope that helps.

this is correct - i had the same problem when i brought my ps3 to a friends house. I had it set for 1080p, while his tv was only accepted up to 1080i. doing this resets all the display settings. Have the system on, and hold the button in for about 10 seconds til you hear the 3 beeps.
