Re: EA: "Singleplayer is no longer the future"

    There's about 30 million 360's last I checked.
    20 million XBL members.
So there's at least 10 million that don't take their system online AT ALL. Ever.
They just banned a million of them that do go online.

Of the remaining 19 million there's going to be silver members that don't play online (and can't get a demo on time despite spending about $500 on DLC *cough*) and people with multiple or fake accounts for whatever reason (I've had about 24 myself). If that even makes up 4 million 50% of gamers overall don't play online, not just sports gamers. Since they reduce themselves to such shenanigans I'd say it's about 5 million. (Why else shoot devs/marketing/themselves in the foot if it wasn't a signifcant number?)

1: Not me. Never have bought a MP only game and never will.

Bottom line is No SP = No gaming for me.

        so..
..they will now focus on just creating a sandbox for you to find players to play with. They can't be blamed for any B.S. that goes on in games if it's not their A.I.
        Brilliant.
....and I saw there are already idiots saying.
"Yeah...we don't need single player, I only play MP anyway"

        What a copout by EA.
        Figures.

        My thoughts exactly.
When I heard a developer for the NHL series say that they've run out of room on the Xbox and can't fit anymore AI tweaks in there, I just about puked.

I only play offline with all of my games. The only game I do play online with is Gears of War 2.
I guess I shouldn't expect anything special from future EA games if I'm playing by myself.
        Thanks.

I would say it's much less than 50%.
I'm a prime example of someone who has an XBL gold account who plays about 2% online.

When I read reviews, I skip right past the MP modes. It's SP or nothing for me usually.

Lots of people have accounts, but I'd bet that only 20% are hardcore MP players.

I guess any small amount optimism I had for seeing the ai drastically improved in the NCAA Football series went out the window with that quote. That quote explains alot.
