Xbox 360 Disc Drive Problems?
Quick question, my xbox 360 is having trouble reading discs sometimes and other times it will. What I will have to do is continually open the trey and close it until it works. Sometimes it will say that the disc is scratched, and the game is a brand new copy of nba 2k10. I have verified that the game works on another 360. What should I do?Tags: None -

I know some people have put the console on its side, as a temporary fix. To me, it just sounds like your drive is wearing out and getting ready to die.PSN ID: Lordcledus

Normal warranty is 1 yr from date of purhase for everything. 3 yrs for RROD/E74.
On repaired consoles you get back from MS, you get 3 months for everything from the date you get it back.
If you call or have your console registered at xbox.com, you can check the warranty date.Comment

I've been having similar issues. I know my 1-year warranty is long gone, too. At this point, I don't feel like spending $100-plus to get this thing fixed, especially when I've taken really good care of the machine. I shouldn't have to pay for poor craftmanship.
My 360 has also given me an error message when I first power it up with one flashing red light in the lower right quadrant.
With GameStop offering $25 more towards consoles and the 10-, 25-, 40-percent deal on games, I may just take it there, trade it in and put the money towards a PS3.Currently Playing:

a friend of mine had a dead dvd drive. He just made it RROD and sent it into MS under that. Got a nice replacement back.I've been having similar issues. I know my 1-year warranty is long gone, too. How did he make it RROD? Just leave it on for a day or two? I wasn't too happy when they sent back my original 360 the last time I sent it in for the RROD.Currently Playing:

I just got that one red ring last week. It's happened one or two other times as well over the 3 years I've had my 360.
I've been having issues with my disc drive as well. When I'm playing Madden and NBA 2K10, which I just recently rented but it isn't damaged badly, the drive starts making weird sounds and it sounds like the disc is stopping and starting at times.
I hope to god my 360 doesn't die out on me. No way I pay a bunch of money to MS to get it fixed when it really shouldn't be an issue in the first place.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.
