Using PS3 Controller For PC Games

I looked for a thread on here on how to do this and I did not find one. So I figured I would post it here in case others were curious about how to do it.

This was all brought on because I was being nostalgic and wanted to play GTA San Andreas again while I wait for the Show to come out. I don't have a PS2 anymore and my 3 isn't BC, so I went out last night and picked it up for PC. I will say the graphics are much crisper on the PC, it's like I'm playing it for the first time again. Good times.

A wired 360 controller works without issue.

It does? sweet. Thats the only thing i kept from my 360 i trashed. Though it is the wireless one with the USB cable.

That one doesn't work. That cable is simply for charging.

You would need to get the wireless USB hub MS sells to use your wireless controller.

Google it. That's how I found the website above. If I remember correctly there was an XBox 360 one as well.

Pared it does work. The play and charge cable is a USB cable as well.

I just pulled the battery on my 360 controller and I just plugged in the play and charge cord and my 360 controller is currently powered and on.

So yeah LionsFanNJ you can use your play and charge USB. Vista and Windows 7 will recognize the controller.

It's an emulation program that makes your PC think that a XBox controller is attached to it. It's actually got to be a PS3 controller hooked via USB. Oh well, I just bought the 360 wireless for PC off of Ebay. I'm hoping that I get my 360 back in one piece. Then I can use the new controller for both the PC and I can sync it up to the 360 as a second controller, when needed.

Yeah, after his response I tried and tried and my little green lights went around in a circle forever. But I have my new controller/receiver on the way, so I'll be playing with the best controller ever invented on my PC by Thursday. Yes, I'm biased.
