Hey, I know you can charge the controller with any USB plug, as long as what ever you're plugging it in to is turned on. For example, I can charge it in a USB outlet as long as my computer is on. Anyway, I found out that you can charge it on your Xbox 360 while it is off. The thing is, the Xbox is in stand by mode while the controller is charging. I thin I read somewhere that once the controller is finished charging, the console turns off. My question is this safe for the Xbox? I know its not techinically turned on, but its also not technically turned off.

Well I don't think they would have put this feature on if it wasn't safe. Doesn't take that long to charge a controller. -

well if you look at it that way, I dont think they would make a console that consistantly has a overheating problem..oh wait.
And my concern is technically the console is on when you turn it off while charging the controller. It being on, isnt gonna cause any over heating problems is it?Comment

Anyway, so I understand that you plug the controllerinto your Xbox, then turn the console off either by the controller or the console itself. The system is still on, the light on the box is green, but the light on the console is off...will it turn off when the controller is finished charging?Comment

It's fine.
It's a low power mode. Many devices have them.
