Sony, I'm mad at you right now. It's absurd that they don't have their more than three year old console available during the best ever month they've ever had as far as exclusives go. I've been looking for a PS3 for a month and absolutely cannot find one anywhere. Total Bush League crap on their part.

Re: PlayStation 3: The Comeback Kid?
It seems that Sony already modified the slim, as a new model number is coming out. The slim will go from CECH-2000A to CECH-2100A. So they apparently had a revised model planned, figured shipments would last into the new year, and they'd roll out the new model with no one noticing.Comment

Re: PlayStation 3: The Comeback Kid?
They vastly underestimated the demand for the system then. They should have known that between the price drop and the awesome exclusives coming up that they were going to sell a lot of systems. By the time I can actually find one, I might have changed my mind about buying one though. I am so close to just giving in and buying a replacement Blu-ray player instead of waiting.Comment

Re: PlayStation 3: The Comeback Kid?
The Show, Heavy Rain, and a catalog of games that I haven't gotten to play yet is sort of tempting right now. Plus I have a ton of games over here I can trade in towards the extra 50% thing at Gamestop. I think I might break down soon.Comment

Re: PlayStation 3: The Comeback Kid?
I posted this in another thread:
For those looking for a PS3, it sounds like more are on the way this week.
March 15, 2010 - Sony is making sure there will be plenty of PlayStation 3 consoles available in North America during one of its biggest quarters of the year.
John Koller, SCEA's Director of Hardware and Marketing, told IGN the company is readying PS3 supply for important game releases, including tomorrow's God of War III launch.
"We have shipments flowing in now," said Koller. "As you know we are in tight supply, and the reason for that is because demand is outstripping even what we thought it would after the price drop."
"We have a lot of big launches coming up that we need to make sure we're in really strong supply for, and we will be for when God of War III launches," he added. "We'll be in a tight situation for a little while, but for big launches, and particularly for the titles coming in the back half of the year, we'll be fine."
Recent PS3 supply constraints have put a damper on sales since this past holiday. February's NPD revealed Sony sold 360,000 consoles, good for third place. With a full month of Heavy Rain sales, and the releases of Final Fantasy XIII and God of War, March NPD data should prove positive for Sony if there is ample supply.Comment

Re: PlayStation 3: The Comeback Kid?
Dislimb was right about the PS3. Despite Gamestop.com saying that 5 different stores had one available, every single store said otherwise when I called them. I ended up finding a 120 gig slim through a search on Target.com and picked it up at lunch. Then I went to Gamestop, traded in a few games because of their special, and walked out with Heavy Rain, The Show, and MGS4 without spending anything. Pretty good day so far. Can't wait to fire this up later.Comment
