Stupid PS3 question regarding transferring data.

Currently I have a 40gb PS3 and I want to buy a slim PS3 with some of the tax return money I got. Now to transfer the stuff I have on my 40gb to the new PS3 I know I will have to buy a flash drive or something right? What do you guys recommend is the best/cheapest flashdrive to transfer the information on my 40 gig to my new PS3?

I know this is probably going to be super easy to answer but I'm not sure exactly what external drive to buy.

    Thanks.

I don't think any flash drives are over 40GB in size (probably 16GB max). Your best bet is to use an external hard drive.

You back it up by going to the Settings locale in the XMB and find System Settings, then I think there's a Back Up Data option from there. When you need to put this in your new PS3, you'll go to the same place, only click on Restore Data.

I'm not in front of a PS3 right now so I'm not positive this is how it goes.

There is a utility now that lets you hook up the two PS3s directly with a network cable and transfer everything that way.

Wow thanks that looks super easy and I don't have to buy anything. I will try this.
