    ps2.

    I grew up on all the forefathers of consoles, Atari and the like.

    They all have something to bring to the discussion.

    Good memories to be had from the NES, SNES, and Genesis.

    But the ps2 takes it for me. I havent been a huge fan of this generation as its not the same beast anymore what with online, patches and pay per features.

    The PS2 was the last link to the old days of gaming for me and i am hanging on for dear life!

                The original Playstation is my all time favorite.

                    My list would probably go:

                    N64 (played so much Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Mario 64, Mario Kart, Super Smash Brothers, Conquer's Bad Fur Day back in the day and it always seemed fun).
                    PS2
                    Xbox (mainly for the days my friends and I would play the original Halo)
                    360
                    PS3

                        Definitely why the N64 is probably my favorite. Add in Zelda, Jet Force Gemini, Star Fox, etc. Even with probably the worst controller ever it was still great.
                        After that its:
                        SNES
                        360
                        PS2
                        XBox

                        Least favorite goes to Gamecube!

                        Edit: I notice a lot of Dreamcast on here, sucks that system didn't last as long as it should have in the States.

                                        i know im old, but the atari started my love for gaming, and then the nes blew me away. i will never forget opening my nintendo on xmas!

                                            Sega Genesis, simply because of the amazing sports titles and how much time I spent using it. I wish I had that much time to play video games again. I love the technology that the new consoles bring, but I can't beat my Sega for nostalgia's sake and in terms of the pure fun factor of the games. No worries about hyper-realism or nitpicking over minor glitches back then.

                                                I had a lot of fun playing the Genesis in the early 90s and most of my sports game memories are from that bad boy.
                                                Its number two on my list.
