Dreamcast is my number one also. I still have my original, but my brother found one used online (ebay/amazon) for 30$ or so. Sports games are my #1, but man I'm sure having good times with Space Channel 5, Crazy Taxi, series'. The only bad thing is that my lightgun doesn't function on LCD/Plasma tv's in my house...there, there House of the Dead 2

I definitely played my PS2 the most so I guess you could say it was my 'favorite'. I really got into gaming that era. Still, looking back though, I think the SNES was the 'best' console. It was such a big leap from the NES era and I still remember my jaw drop when I saw early games Super Mario World and Final Fight and then my favorite - Street Fighter 2.

I have one favorite all time, and thats The dreamcast, Sega made gaming so much better, especially SPORTS GAMING, with the releases of the astonishing 2k series, that marked the best times I had in playings sports games, From NFL 2K and NBA 2k, the dreamcast what truly what there name represented for a sports game and that was a DREAM come true.

You can admit the real reason you loved the Dreamcast though, no real competition for it's time, so you had no reason to sell it and buy it again j/k

PS2 (Amazing Game Library - Broadband Online Play)

Dreamcast (since it revived sports gaming and introuduced innovation with online play via dialup and the VMU).

PS3/360 (seemless online intergration with gaming and various forms of entertainment - Netflix, Music Streaming, Movie Rentals, Digital Downloads, but most of all PSN & XBLA have given inde developers a chance to make console games).

16 Bit Era
Nintendo, Sega, and NEC with 16 bit game systems offering some awesome games that still have fun factor today that a lot of games in the past few years have been missing.

I'd have to go with the NES. Sure, I played a heck of a lot of Intellivision before that, but "The Nintendo" is what brought my love for games to fruition. The games are comically underwhelming nowadays, but I can remember seeing "Batman" for the first time and being wowed by the graphics. That rectangle controller is horrible for my hands these days, and it feels like it was meant for a Smurf, but that challenge of the games is something that is unmatched these days. How many of us bought Nintendo Power so we could get the fold-out map for Zelda? In the days before "walktrhoughs," you had to beat the games and figure out the puzzles...for better or worse. When you finally beat a game there was a distinct sense of accomplishment that is missing from this generation of games...mostly because developer intend for you to beat their games now, back then only the best players would/could.

That being said, I think I've had more appreciation for games as an art form this generation of games due to the incredible stories that are able to be told (Red Dead Redemption, Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed, even Ghostbusters).

It failed because it's games didn't sell enough and EA refused to make games for it.

And because you could literally download a game's ROM online, burn it, and play it on the console.

The system's security was lacking, to say the least.
