Yellow Dog Linux 6.1 on the PS3

Because Sony made it so easy to install other operating systems on the PS3, I don't believe this would be against the TOS as discussing modding the system. If it is my apologies.

Today I installed Yellow Dog Linux 6.1 on my PS3. I actually found a simple how to here. I primarily did this because we use the PS3 to watch a lot of online videos and this appeared to be the only way to get Firefox on the PS3 so that some sites would hopefully work better.

Has anyone else done this? If so any suggestions or must have programs for YDL?

I was watching this on youtube and it said Sony contacted Yellow Dog to make it for the ps3. So this should not get locked i don't think.

Yeah it's not a hack or anything. Yellow Dog was ready to go as soon as the PS3 launched.

Yeah, PS3 stripped the ability when it the Slim was released, which is kind of a downer.

Re: Yellow Dog Linux 6.1 on the PS3

So I installed YDL but I can't get the wireless internet to connect to my network. I think I know what I messed up during the installation process but am hoping I don't need to go through the long install again.

I primarily wanted this for Firefox and the hopeful ability to watch Hulu and other sites on the 'PS3'.
