Need some help PS3 issues

My PS3 has been freezing but only with one game MLB the Show 10. I have already exchanged one copy so I dont think its a disc issue as my new copy is doing the same. I will try and summarize everything that has happened. First issue I noticed was the commentary stopping in 2 of the games that I was playing but I was able to finish both games without any other issues. The next problem I had was in the main menu of the game the song that was playing started skipping then the PS3 froze and had to be cut off with the switch on the back of the system. Once I cut the game back on it would not load so I put in my copy of NBA 2K10 and it loaded and played just fine. So I tried the Show again and it wouldnt even read the disc I then cut the game off and back on and it read the disc and it worked fine for a few minutes then froze again. This time when I cut the PS3 back on there was corrupt data so I reformatted the system not my harddrive but the system and that made the corrupt data box go away. After that the game worked for a while but then would freeze again so I decided to exchange it for a new copy. The first evening the new copy worked just fine. The next day the game froze again in the main menu same way music skipping then locking up. This time after cutting it off and back on and trying to start the game up I got the error code 8001050f. I then cut the game back off and on and game worked fine the rest of the evening. Today after getting home from work I have tried the show 3 times still not working but I just finished playing 2 full games of NBA 2K10 and no problems. So there is something going on with my PS3 and the Show 10 oh and I have an older fat PS3. Any ideas will be very appreciated.

Thanks man its hard to type on here using by blackberry. I still haven't figured anything out. I am getting ready to back up my files and restore my whole playstation if that doesn't work I guess I will be buying a slim. Unless someone can come up with a better solution.

My PS3 was freezing on Madden 10. First lost commentary, then the game froze. Had it under warranty and it turned out the Blu-Ray laser was bad. Good luck
