Netflix Wii

Anyone else get their discs? I have Netflix on my 360, but amazingly, it's not that bad on the Wii. The interface is nice (almost a bit easier to work with) and the movies look pretty good (equal to the SD versions on the 360).

A couple things I noticed yesterday when watching a couple movies with my wife on it yesterday:

1) She was trying to point something out to me on the screen in the movie to look at. Pointed the Wiimote at the screen, used the finger that came up, and showed me. Nice touch.

2) After putting the disc in and getting to the queue screen, we took the disc out. Everything still worked! We could scroll around through lists, start/stop movies, everything. Is this how it's supposed to work? Is the ps3 Netflix the same way.

Yes, 360 owners, I know it's not SUPER-DUPER AMAZING like the 360 version, but honestly, it's no different than the 360 outside of putting a disc in (like you would to normally watch a movie). So they're not in HD....oh well.

I got my disc a few days ago. I let my wife watch it on our TV in the bedroom and I'll watch my Netflix stuff on the PS3 or the 360 in the living room. You are right about it seeming to be easier to navigate on the Wii than the PS3 or 360.

Wife likes this. The Wii is in the living room since she's the only one who uses it now, and she likes grabbing some TV shows to watch.

I still prefer the 360 just for the HD movies, but the Wii's interface is better.

EG - for the 360 netflix, how do the HD movies compare to blu-ray and how is the selection??

It's gotten much better, I see a lot more HD movies. They are in 720P, later this year they will be in 1080P though. Still just Dolby Surround though, but 5.1 is coming as well.

I guess i'll hold onto my Blockbuster account until they are completely bankrupted and maybe by then Netflix will be ready to go. Netflix is on the PS3 too right?

Blockbuster told me they had some streaming deal too but I didn't know what they were talking about. I've never seen anything streaming on any of the consoles for them at least. Such lies. LIES I SAY!

Yes, Netflix is on the PS3. Pretty sure it has the same interface as the Wii, just without the pointer.

Blockbuster is on many things for streaming, Samsung TV's, LG Blu-ray players, Panasonic Blu-ray players, etc. No consoles though.

Yeah, the thought of going and spending more money for a dying company like Blockbuster doesn't thrill me. I've considered buying a top of the line Blu-Ray for my den but I just wonder if it's worth the upgrade over a PS3 really.

Blockbuster suppose start streaming to either the HTC HD2 or Iphone or maybe both pretty soon. Where as netflix is trying to get a deal with android based phones.

Just set mine up this morning. Really had wanted to get a Roku Player for a while, but this does a great job. Now it's about adding stuff to the instant queue. That's the only thing I don't like, the lack of ability to navigate from the console. But it's the same with my 360, so no biggie.
Now Joel won't want to hog my computer to watch his streaming movies. Yay!

Does the Wii upgrade the picture quality or are you at the mercy of it's poor graphics?
