    The Great RROD....

As if my ****ing day hasn't been bad enough already.....I was just playing some Modern Warfare 2, still pissed about the Cavs/Celts game and pissed about the fact that the Phoenix Coyotes are going to be staying in Phoenix for now and not coming back here to Winnipeg. I finish 1 game and move on to the next. I'm playing Hardcore Team Deathmatch in Invasion and then about 2-3 minutes in, the screen suddenly goes off like if I had turned off the power on my TV, only I didn't and my TV was still on. I go "WTF?" and look down at my Xbox to see 3 beautiful red lights shining (BTW, this Xbox lasted me 4 months after MS had to replace my original one in February because that one received an E74 error). So I'm wondering if there's anything I can do to at least get it back on for 5-10 minutes?

I'm the commissioner of a Madden 10 Online Franchise and that will basically go to hell because I can't advance the weeks if I don't have my Xbox and obviously I wasn't expecting this to happen, so I had no time to hand over commish duties to someone else.

As for Microsoft...they can **** themselves. 2 consoles in the last 4 months dying out? That's a joke. I don't have the money to buy a PS3 but whenever I do, that's what I'm doing - buying a PS3. Tired of this MS BS. Tired, tired, tired.

Well of course. Every system ends up dying but at the rate 360's die out, it's pretty ridiculous and I'm just tired of having to put up with this. We invest all this money into it, just for it to flat out die like this. Nevermind the fact that like I said in my 1st post, this is the 2nd console to die on me in about 4 months. That's just unacceptable IMO.

I'm a PS3 guy man, but I'd say if you really love Xbox Live (which is seems you use it quite a bit), I'd either send that thing in or, if you're going to save up for a new console, save up for a new Elite, or perhaps the slim model that is rumored to be coming out later this year. Again, I love me some PS3, but I wouldn't make the switch strictly out of anger. Like I said, you clearly like to use Live (MW2, Madden League... and I would assume these are all with friends) and I'll be honest, PSN is not Live.

Just something to keep in mind dude. Think it through and make your decisions once you've relaxed a little and have a clearer head about it.

Plus, remember one thing..............you keep getting back refurbs from MS. Some have been lucky that the system they get back lasts a long time and others like yourself it is dead within months. I would send this one back to them, have them send out another one, and then trade in that refurb and get yourself a new one. It seems like you like what MS has to offer and no reason to dump it all considering you have friends on Live.

Yep, I'd do exactly as Candy said so you could at least do what im doing and buy continual 20 dollar warranties on it if it breaks within a year you can exchange on the spot. That way you dont deal with M$ as often.

Well I do like Live but I'd much rather have a reliable system.

To be honest, I never got into online until last August when I bought a Gold card. Really the 2 games you mentioned are the only ones I play online. I mostly gave up on online sports gaming aside from Madden leagues that are 100% sim. And I do have friends on XBL I play those games with, but not many of them. A good chunk of my friends have completely different games from me or just don't have XBL at all.

To me, it just seems the positives of switching to PS3 far outweigh the negatives. I'd be getting a nice slim system, a ton more HD space to save games, a Blu-Ray player, free online and I'd get to play all those Sony exclusives that I never got to play like Uncharted, GOW III, Killzone 2, Heavy Rain, The Show (even though I'm not a baseball fan, lol), etc. It would basically be a whole new experience.

BTW, I know I've heard of people selling their bricked 360's on eBay. How much do people tend to get for them?

Doesn't MS have a policy where you send in 3 Xbox's and they send you a brand new one after the 3rd?

                          no..

the only way to possibly get a new 360 from a RROD return is to have a retailer replacement plan.

Alright, I could've sworn MS did that a while ago, maybe I was wrong. Thanks for the clarification.
