No without turning to standby first. I did it once, and then when I booted it up the PS3 told me I wasn't doing it right.
I will go standby, then off if there is a storm coming. -

I always turn it off at the back. This might sound dumb but what does having it on standby do?

I used to with my Phat Ps3 when it was going to remain off for extended periods of time. Only time I turn it completely off is when there is bad weather here. Which this summer has been at least once a week.Comment
