Re: XBOX Live Update Preview Program accepting sign-ups

I just sent the following email to my Time Warner people here locally:

I would like to know why I am unable to access ESPN3.com content via my Roadrunner account. I have read that you must also be a paid subscriber to the Time Warner video services. I'd just like to complain about this and request that Time Warner allow access for Roadrunner subscribers only. My bill is high enough that this should be included. I am seriously considering switching providers because of this.

    Thanks,
    Shaun

I did the same thing, but I went a bit further. I told them I contacted the BBB and also told them we've been loyal customers, where it the loyalty from them? I have a feeling the local folks will tell us this was a decision by the higher ups in the company.

Might be a good idea to switch over.

As a fellow Roadrunner suscriber, thank u Odogg & Roadman. This is just silly. I hated TW Cable when i had it and im thinking of ditching the internet service.

yea but will they take psn cards
Depends on what area of a hooker you would use to redeem them.

That's odd that you can't. I updated and got full access to all 3 the morning of Nov 1st on my living room slim model. I decided to go online on my older 360 in my bedroom and update that system as well and it worked flawlessly.

I have all 3 up and running on both my 360's.

Maybe you can take us through the steps you went through to figure it out?

Damn, watching all the sports games available on ESPN in either my bedroom or living room rules. I am especially loving all the UH games I get through ESPN3, I got sick of seeing them on my 22" wide screen PC. Watching the movie trailers through Zune in HD is pretty damn cool also. I still don't understand how it plays so quickly with no loading time in HD.

I got a message saying some content wasn't available when I fired-up my 360. The content is now available. Weird

It has to just be problems with the update. I was watching NFL highlights yesterday and then all of a sudden it said that none of the NFL content was available. Hopefully they fix this stuff soon.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

Ugh. I wish Canada could get the ESPN stuff.

The good news is I found out I get a free 1 month Netflix trial though.

I like the new look as well. Menus look nicer and move smoother when you're scrolling through them. So far so good.

If I could show you what it looked like then to now, you'd like the way it looks. Trust me, based on many of the early beta testers feedback, it's been improved.
The one thing I will say for microsoft, is they're pretty good about listening to feedback, and everyones opinion I have read online, or talked to in person, they all have one thing in common, they do not like the white on the guide. I would guess within a month we'll see a title update to either allow some color customization, or a color change.

Does anyone have the updated Facebook? After downloading the update I noticed everything got a new look except the Facebook application. It still has the old overlay style like before the new update, plus my avatar doesn't have the updated body type. I didn't get prompted to update the Facebook application once I entered into it like the other applications. Has anyone had the same issue?

I got a call from Time Warner around lunch time today. They said that the reason I can't get the channel is that ESPN is tied to the cable and not the internet. I said "well how is it then that Comcast users who subscribe to just their internet get it?" and the guy really had no answer. He basically said he'd pass my comment on up to the higher ups and I thanked him for calling me. At least now I know they did get my email though, I was surprised actually that they called me.

Just once again saying how amazing ESPN3 is. I am seriously watching it through my 360 now more than ESPNews or ESPN2 on my Satellite.

I only watch ESPN more than ESPN3, so it has moved up to my second spot in the long line of the four letter network's channels.

M$ & ESPN must be happy, I never thought I'd see the day where I would fire up my 360 to see whats on ESPN3 and scroll through there and watch the HD feeds pour in and leave it on that "channel" for hours on end.

How does that crap figure into Nielsen ratings huh?

Those of you that were not offered the service because of you cable / whatever deal, you get it worked out? Or are you still screwed out of ESPN3?
