    Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion

With regards to Virtua Tennis, I made the following post in the Tennis forum and I think anyone considering it should be aware of the info in it to make an informed decision:

This is not a knock on the game but just a fact. The career mode consists of a lot of mini games and a few tourneys here and there. I'm not even sure there is more than one season.

Here are the reasons why I wish I had passed even though it's a fun game overall:

-Tournaments only feature semi finals and finals for regular tournaments and the quarter-finals are added in major tournaments.

-I've found no way to make matches longer outside of exhibition mode. The matches are generally one-set where the first player to get a 2 game lead wins the set. There is usually a tie-breaker if it gets to 2-2 though some matches can be won 2-1. This to me is ridiculously short. In exhibition mode, you can customize rules to mirror real life but I haven't found a way to set up a tournament, just single matches.

-There is an Arcade mode which is described as going through the 4 major tournaments but as I've seen it's only one match on each of the major courts and once again no customizing of the rules.

Again, there is no denying that what's there is fun. Virtua Tennis has always been a fun arcade title. I just wish you were afforded more options to make matches longer and set up full custom tournaments.
As far as what games I'd recommend, I agree with Hot Shots Golf and I'm surprised no one else has mentionned FIFA.

It dropped last night (I downloaded it) but apparently there were some issues with it so they removed it (temporarily).

PS Vita system software update 1.65 has been taken down temporarily due to a technical fault. For any customers who may have already downloaded the firmware, they can continue as normal. We will notify you once the latest system software update is available to download again.

Unit 13 was awesome. I'm glad I waiting because it made my 6 hour flight go by quickly. I like it better than I thought I would and I think I disturbed the white collar book reader next to me.

I also played more Uncharted and I had forgotten how fun that is.

So 1.65 must of had something wrong with it, interesting.

Hopefully they unveil full remote play come this summer at E3.

Heh, didn't even notice the update this morning was 1.66.

Google seems to think 1.55 broke ad-hoc

Good thing they fixed the ad-hoc. The 3 people that use it were probably pissed.

hey all. have had the vita about a month and pretty much only play the show on it. sadly, i've been having issues with thumb pain since i've started playing. was hoping the PDP trigger grip would help, but hasn't (maybe my hands are too big). The pain is mostly located at both knuckles on both thumbs. I usually don't play for too long each sitting. Never more than 1 game in a row so far. It's not really cramps either. I still feel a little discomfort right now and haven't played since yesterday.

Any ideas on how to ideas on how to remedy the issue? any other grips out there that might help a little more?

You know what game I think would be absolutely awesome on this thing? If done well of course....

                              Summer Olympics.

I would love to see one this year.

Using mostly touch controls it could bring back the feeling of the days of the old school track and field game.
