Hell, the first patch or two actually broke that feature for a while... It was just a mess. And that says something (negatively) about the system as well when one of the PS3's best developers doesn't even support the Vita version of their game post-launch.
The other problem was it was like the only game that really even offered that at the time. Not many do even still (nor are they the same game on both systems), but I think many people could at least buy into the fact... and I would consider that good advertising to at least try and sell it that way.

I know the vita patch never saw the light of day because it broke the game. They could not get it to work properly. Not sure exactly what was causing the issue. I do not recall if they ever mentioned that.

Metal Gear Solid HD Collection is one of those games. Love that feature.

No, they never did mention that. Vita communication was pretty non-existent after the first month or two. Last we heard was that they were looking at patching several items, but then nothing.

I still believe they also feel it just wasn't really worth their time; they realize the limitations (and sales) of the system. For example, last year we were told the presentation was cut to streamline the experience for the on-the-go crowd. This year, they finally just admitted that it was cut due to the memory limitations on the Vita.

We've heard a lot of spinning from multiple parties, but like I said, when such a high profile 1st party dev starts going down that road, it says a lot about your system.

Well, what they said was that it was a creative decision, and technically they weren't wrong. However, I queried about what that actually meant, as if they had an actual choice in the matter. In the end, it was all about optimization: add in the presentation and leave out a bunch of other stuff, or the other way around? They went with the latter, and I don't blame them.

I do think that things like the larger ball (now a bit smaller) and text pop-ups for "OUT" and "FOUL" were a bit too much without the options to make them like their PS3 counterpart, but I get the presentation stuff. The thing I recognize is that cut scenes mean the added commentary, and they get to kill two birds with one stone by removing both, saving memory on their end. I think it's awesome what they could fit into the game though, even things like their day-to-night lighting system, etc.

There is a serious lack of info on upcoming Vita games. I love the system and play it all the time, but Sony needs to get off their arses and support this great little system. Where are the games? I have seen only 4 games coming over the next few months. Anybody have news of any big games on the way? The Show is a for sure purchase and I will probably get Sly Cooper.

I'm very disappointed in the lack of games...

I'm hoping things change for it come at E3, but the issue is that Sony will most likely be too busy with the Oribis and PS3.

Quality is much better than quantity. Contrary to what people were saying they had a ton of great launch games...

Right now, this is the last thing they need. Besides the lackluster marketing, a years worth of blah games.

Not one of those titles is going to move systems. They dropped the ball on AC: Liberation and the Black Ops game.

Still waiting for a great fps. And how about adding ALL of the psp's library?

Even though I'm a little irked with Sony's half-hearted attempts to support the Vita, I absolutely love the thing. I was lying in bed last night marveling at the graphics in SF x Tekken. I just want this great system to get the support it deserves.

Hey fellas some leaked info on Killzone Mercenary from a polish magazine and image as well:

                            - Engine is nearly 1:1 from PS3 version
                            - They added a few new gimmicks to the engine, so they can utilize more PS Vita
                            - Game is gorgeous, clear and crispy textures, big draw distances
                            - Character models are awesome, the same with animation
                            - Stable FPS even with gigantic action inside levels
                            - Literally - game is like portable Killzone 3, looking better than Uncharted.

True they will be busy, but can not ignore the Vita any longer, they have something great on there hands to let it slip away.
