Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
with every ps4 game being playable on the vita, do you see this is as good or bad for vita? bad meaning...developers may shy away from making vita games.Comment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
I think for game development, it could be a bad thing. We've already seen EA shy away from the platform in lieu of the PS4 remote play. Obviously, I will use the Vita-PS4 features, but I still want actual Vita-only games.Currently Playing:
MLB The Show 25 (PS5)Comment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
Sony needs to get Vitas into gamers hands, if they do that more publishers will invest in the system, if PS4 remote play lets that happen, then all the better for it. Should note that, by the way Sony is talking (they specifically said "over wifi"), Vita won't be playing PS4 games over the internet. Or maybe being able to play over the internet just isn't a requirement, that just might be one of those things that Sony even won't know until we see some real world experiences with it.
I don't think PS4 remote play is a hurdle for Vita development though.Comment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
I'm a little interested in that Destiny of Spirits. They're billing it as a "social RPG" which kind of scares me, but it seems like the battling is turn-based in nature which is a plus for me. Will have to see what their F2P model is too, and whether it ultimately ends up being Pay to Win.
Others I'm looking forward to on Vita:
Killzone Mercenary
FFX - X-2 (on either PS3 or Vita, haven't decided which)
Dragon Fantasy Book 2 (same as FFX)
Rainbow Moon
Binding of Isaac: Rebirth (original game is PC crack, this is supposed to be an enhanced remake/expansion)
All of these are at least a couple months down the road, though - there's definitely a lull in new Vita games right now. And I doubt I'd be getting any of them right on launch day with the PS4 looming. All the more reason to finish a bunch of the older games I haven't completed yet right now.Comment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
Is there a list of all the Vita games that were at E3? A few times I heard media folks say about half the games there were a surprise/unknown to them because of the amount of indie games.Comment

It's true, a lot of them are unknowns (to the mainstream) and some others are ports/also getting released on PS3. And the only really AAA title there is Killzone. But they're still games.Comment

Here's an actual "list" article from IGN:

There are even bundles without a memory card now (Lego Batman, recently on sale for $200).
Have just missed out on a couple of $180 white Vitas w/ a couple genes.

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
Picked up a fairly beat up white Vita and a couple games for $150. Screen is fine but a lot of deliberate scratches all over the silver parts of the border. Just realized a few minutes ago that the worst are on the bottom because... da da dummmmm... that's where the serial number and barcode are at? Joy.
Anyways, what case and grips are you guys using? I could go back several dozen pages and see those recommendations, but would be interested in how they've worked out, if you stopped using them, etc.
Tinkered a little with Need for Speed (very nice) and Madden (framerate and view are going to take a lot of getting used to). Really just intend for it to be a PS4 accessory, but will enjoy a few things that are inexpensive along the way im sure unless I can get a larger memory card without a 2nd mortgage.
I picked up this case for like $10 as an open item, works nice unless I eventually try and carry around more than 3 games and 2 memory cards.
Came with a case that I threw away because of how badly it smelled of cigarette smoke.
Also, here's what I mean by pretty beat up. Just a couple minor imperfections in the screen (thankfully they were using a screen protector, tossed it but will be buying another for sure). At first I wondered if I could maybe use a wannabe dremel on it and smooth it out... but really it looks like I'd have to do that and then paint it if I wanted to do any kind of repair job. I could get a gel cover for the unit but then it won't fit into my case. I'm sure I'll try something at some point and make it worse than it is.
Despite all of this, I still feel like I all but stole the thing, with how well they appear to be moving on Ebay and Craigslist.Comment

$150? I was thinking of selling mine for that and it don't have even a smudge.
It's also a 3G with a bunch of extras. Maybe I should ask for more if I try to sell itComment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
I'm not as familiar with how well the black ones have been selling, but used white ones were going for nearly full retail, and new white Vitas still in the box often exceeding it. Ebay is kinda silly too though, with new Vitas being bid past retail, while a used vita with a few games and 32gb memory stick goes unsold at $300.Comment

That's quite a story there...lol. And I think I saw Thing 1 in there somewhere.
I have a white Vita too. Picked up a ACL bundle for $180 on a Black Friday lighting deal. I bundled some of that stuff with my original black model and sold it for $275 on eBay.
Anyway, you could probably clean up the scratches with some sandpaper and model paint. Of course, I don't know how handy you are with that type of stuff. The gel case isn't a bad idea tho, and it would fit into my case below.
As for Madden did you download the update? That improved the game quite a bit, IMO.
Case - I currently use the RDM PS Vita case. It's well cushioned yet hard on the outside. It also has a cart wallet built in that can hold 16 games. I think it was $15 new, on sale. Regular price is about $20.
Grips - I use 2 different sets. I have the Skque Vita Grip (white) that I got for like $10 on Amazon. They are just OK, but the handle portion is just the right size. My other set is the PDP Trigger Grips (black) and I would highly recommend these to anyone with a Vita. They add actual triggers that feel very nice. The finish on then is a soft matte plastic that provides very good grip.
Lastly, with the serial numbers filed off, it also LOOKS like you stole the thing.
