Sony PSVITA Discussion
Played KillZone (don't kill me cause this ain't going to be a popular comment but...) I wasn't a big fan of it.
Just added Sonic to top of GameFly list to try. Would you say it's similar to Mario Cart?
And thanks for heads up Burns, very disappointing news.Texas A&M Aggies

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
I'd say Sonic is very similar to Mario Kart. It has its ups and downs, but the more I play it the more I love it. Tons and tons of levels, plus you get to upgrade your racers' abilities (I love that "random" button that most games just don't feature these days).Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
You could always buy the PSP Hot Shots games to add a little more variety in that way.
If I was not such a big fan of MLB The Show, I probably would ditch my Vita at this point.Currently Playing:

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
Yeah, sadly it does not look like we will see any updated versions of some of the more popular Vita games. Pretty much going to be a lot of indies with some Japanese imports. So, basically the library you have now better be able to sustain you, or you better become a big fan of remote-play as Sony seems to believe we all just want to play PS4 games on the Vita.
Yeah, I still want more Vita games. I do love my current ones though. Would definitely love an NHL game, but only if it hits 60 FPS.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
And I won't lie, at home Remote Play isn't bad latency-wise. Framerate-wise though, completely different story. Also resolution is meh. Don't yet know how it works outside of the house either, but I'm guessing not that great.

I am getting a PS4 at some point and honestly don't know how much I'd use remote play. I'd rather just have quality games released for the Vita, similar to how Nintendo handles its 3DS and Wii U libraries.
An NHL game on the Vita would be outstanding. Sadly, EA has abandoned the Vita, too. Madden 13 was really good (I still play it) but that's all we have, aside from the yearly recycling of the FIFA Soccer game. It's a joke that EA charges $40 for a game that only updates the kits for some of the teams in the game. Zero gameplay improvements from the launch version.Currently Playing:

I'm super excited for you that you picked up a PS4 (saw your post in the PS4 thread and had to get a reference in there.

Always wanted the NHL series just once on Vita. At least we got one Madden I can travel with.
But I guess I'll have to just be happy with remote play for NHL, but that will only be for home use.Texas A&M Aggies

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
Have you tried Remote Play outside of the home? I tried earlier at Best Buy and Starbucks, but apparently their WiFi doesn't allow for any sort of online play. Not the first time I've seen that.
I'll try at my friend's home tomorrow, but I'm guessing RP doesn't really work that well outside of the home. It works great at home! I just wish we could get a nice framerate alongside it. Strangely enough, I was less affected by games like The Last of Us and KillZone than I was with Zen Pinball, where it really does show framerate chug.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

I have not. It works great inside my house but figured outside at another location would have a bunch of lag, which would just irritate and frustrate me.

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
No, it definitely works across the Internet. I've used it at work, as well as on a relative's network. It is hit or miss depending on the Vita-connected network... It works great at work, but not so much on my relative's crappy WiFi lol.

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
I'm guessing the latency would be pretty bad though. For instance, right now I can play KillZone: Shadow Fall online super successfully using RP. It's not as fun/immersive as on a big television with 60 FPS and whatnot, but currently it's one of those features I'm overusing simply "because I can do it."Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

For a nearby connection, yes. You can do it over the Internet as well, though. I just haven't really "tried it" yet is all.
