Re: PSVITA Handheld Information
Skyboxer, the PSP didn't look to bad on the big screen, but not great. I think the Vita would look great if it had that capability. To some, this is an important feature that they can enjoy this on a larger screen. If the feature was there, I'd use it for sure every so often for those titles that are not on the PS3.
It kind of stinks having to wait another 2 weeks, but between UFC3 and Jack Collection with some WWE12 mixed in there it should keep me busy over the next few weeks.Comment

Aaah .... Cool.
Never thought about when you are away on trip or something and wanted to hook to TV. I was nust thinking "why not use the PS3 if you want on tv" etc...Joshua:

PSV FW 1.6
PlayStation Vita owners can look forward to a major update on February 8. The system's version 1.6 update will be available for download on that date and adds two major features.
Your Home screen will now have a Map app. Open this up, and you'll be able to see your positional information on a map. The map can be viewed with satellite imagery turned on and off. You can also search for walking and driving directions and view details about your current location.
The system's photo app will be updated with the ability to take videos. The app is currently limited to static photos.
As a smaller change, the Home button will now flash blue when you have the Vita hooked up to power.
Separate from the system's firmware, Sony will release a MAC OS version of its Content Management Assistant for PlayStation program. Since the Vita's launch, this has been available only for Windows. The program is required for transferring data between your Vita and computer.
This update will also reflect Sony's previously announced naming change from "PlayStation Network Account" to "Sony Entertainment Network Account." This is just a name change. There's no difference in the service features.
The Content Manager for MAC OS will also be released on 8th of February.

Re: PSVITA Handheld Information
A few 1st party titles on PSN store:
I still think that $35.99 is too much for a $39.99 digital title. It's crap like this that makes one wonder how digital distribution can ever take off, let alone how this device can survive in the long run. I think most $29.99 MSRP titles now are bumped up to $39.99.Last edited by CaptainZombie; 02-07-2012, 11:17 PM.Comment

Sony to Gamestop: Go Ahead And Sell Vita Games
Published by Will Anderson on February 7th, 2012 - in Gaming, Gaming News, PlayStation Vita
With a week left to go before the launch of the PlayStation Vita, Gamestops around North America have already begun receiving their shipments of first party titles games from Sony. Titles such as ModNation Racers, Uncharted: Golden Abyss and more have begun arriving in boxes as early as today at the video game retailer.
Additionally surprising is that Sony has apparently green-lit Gamestop to start selling their stock of Vita games. According to an unnamed source at Gamestop, employees have just received a corporate email stating that consumers can now head up to your local Gamestop and begin purchasing first-party Vita titles right now! Of course, you still can’t buy the PlayStation Vita until the 15th if you purchased the early bundle, or the 22nd if you purchased the normal bundle. But at least you won’t have to worry about your game being in stock!Comment

With zero costs in packaging and cartridge production, a $5 savings is ridiculous. That means we are to believe that it only costs an extra $5 per copy for these games to be manufactured to their cartridges, cased, box art printed, and shipped to stores.... riiiiiight.
Digital music makes perfect sense... 99 cents for a song, with room for thousands upon thousands of tracks... the same goes for digital books, as the small file size works very well... at this point, digital copies of software just don't make sense, and aren't even close to reaching the point of being the lead format.Last edited by DickDalewood; 02-08-2012, 12:45 AM.Comment

Did I read that right on the screen shot... Hot Shots Golf has a online pass? Do we really need online passes locking out stuff on a mobile device?Comment

Re: PSVITA Handheld Information
I heard that most/a lot of games will have online passes, and if you download the game through PSN, you need to purchase the online pass separately, which normally comes out to about the same price as the game in retail stores themselves.
Kind of sucks.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: PSVITA Handheld Information
Wow that makes no sense. If digital downloads don't come with the online pass, then they are really going to struggle.
