Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
I'm so confused(hot shots related) in 2 reviews I read, they both stated that Ad-Hoc was not only to play people locally(think near) but also to gather friends from anywhere and do a "simultaneous tournament" Are we just missing something??Twitch - bluengold34_osComment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
the way it is now, there's no way to be online and in ad hoc. I always though ad hoc was local"er" multiplayer.

See Kev...I thought the same exact thing. In one of the reviews(which I read this section 3 times) He states explicitly, that in Ad Hoc you can challenge local friends, or from anywhere. Every time I go into ad-hoc, it always gives us the message that you will be disconnected from online.Twitch - bluengold34_osComment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
I saw a rumor that along with Vita games being buy two, get one free at Target starting on Sunday, that they will be giving a 4GB memory card with purchases of the WiFi version. I think I saw it on the CAG forums.
Hopefully if it's true I get the $20 gift card from my preorder AND the 4GB, even though I already bought an 8GB.
Then with the buy two, get one deal I'll only have to pay $60 for three games by using the gift card.Comment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
Soooo...I thought I might have seriously had the first bricked Vita. I had tried connecting to my wireless hotspot while going to work (to see how Near is really supposed to work), but I tapped on what I guess was an empty space on the connection list instead of the hotspot. The Vita didn't like that and went to some black screen with two options - something about Network Operator and Cancel. And it stayed there - hard lock frozen because neither of those buttons responded to taps. Best of all, I couldn't turn it off.
The Vita ended up sitting in my car turned on, screen display and all (safely tucked away, mind you) for roughly 7 hours. It died shortly after I got home, so I figured this was the chance to recharge it and get it running again. After getting it charged to where the orange light went solid, I hit Power.
Nothing.
Tried holding it, pressing it several times, no good, still wouldn't come on. At this point I'm freaking out. Fortunately, I found out from the online user guide that the Vita has something I didn't expect - a safe mode. It's activated by holding power until the mode's menu comes on - I think it was around 20 seconds or so. It's so long that you couldn't do it by accident. I gave the first option a shot "Restart the Vita System" and there was life!I didn't lose any data, from the freeze and eventual shutdown either, thankfully.
So yeah - if you ever have problems getting it to start up, there's that. Just make sure it's got some charge and hold the power button down a really long time. There's options on that safe mode menu for upgrading the firmware, reformatting the memory card, and factory defaulting the Vita itself as well.Comment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
yeah a power adapter and a USB cable that you use to plug into the power adapter/PS3/computer. There are also these Augmented Reality flashcards. I have no idea what they are for, something to do with a future style of game. I can't remember anything else in there.
