What type of display do you guys play your games on (Monitor) or (HDTV)

I have a 46" Samsung LED Local Dimming HDTV which I love for gaming but the darn input lag even at times with game mode, makes it hard to enjoy shooters or timing base games.

I want to buy the Samsung 23" LED Monitor which has a 2mm resonse time and no input lag.

People tell me that gaming on a monitor is much better then HDTV's because of the blurring and ghostin.

    Thoughts?

I use a Dell 2405 that I had for 4 years now and it has been a champ. Still looks as good as day one, and games still look as good and sometimes better than on full TV sets.

No input lag at all. Even though it claims it is 12-15ms response. But higher end monitors usually have slightly better circuitry and no post processing picture effects that those TVs tend to carry that causes input lag.

I am eventually going to get a nice big 42-47" HDTV. Just had no super need since this has treated me so well.

Looks to be a very good monitor for the price.

I have a 51" Samsung DLP and it is going on 5 years old. No lag and no blurr great tv for both gaming and tv. I am on my second bulb but the picture is great.

I also have two 34" Sony XBR CRT HDTV for gaming and tv. There isn't a better picture or better gaming tv out there.

I am set for the near future.

I was gaming on a Samsung 50" DLP 1080p for the last 4 years with no lag or issues. Then the last week I bought a Samsung 46" LCD 1080p 120hz and so far the input lag has been good. I haven't noticed any motion blur or issues while gaming, and I have been playing GT5 since Wednesday and NFSHS last night on it.

Do you plan with Game Mode ON...I have to on my set but the pic quality takes a bit of a hite as compared to having it OFF.

But racing games do not show input lag because those are not button timing games.

Try and play a shooter online or MLB the show and try and pitch or swing on time.

I did the first few days and turned it off after each gaming session. I have since forgotten to turn it back on the last few days when playing anything.

I played Black Ops online the one evening and I didn't really notice lag. I'll have to try it out tonight and report back.

Plus, don't LED's have more input lag than a regular LCD? I could be wrong here, maybe one of our resident HDTV experts can chime in.

Gaming on a 46" Sharp Aquos and a 32" Vizio LCD.

Oddly enough the Vizio is much better. The sound is so much better on it.

A 55 inch Vizio LCD/LED in the livingroom, and a Samsung 26 inch LCD in the office. I used to game on my 46 Samsung plasma, but the screen retention was staying a little longer. We just moved that one into the bedroom, and play only on the 2 new ones.

LCD......Don't notice any lag at all. In the future probably DLP or Plasma.

                            Absolutely no lag.

All HDTV's have input lag and samsung is the worst. Some dont notice it and some do. It really is bad when playing timing based games.

Plasmas do not have much input lag but LCD's and LED's do

Game Mode functions in todays tv's work better then before since you can tweak the settings a lot. Before you could not.

The best part of gaming on a monitor is the input lag not being there and with fast response times there is no blurring or ghosting on a monitor unlike lcd's and led's
