Re: Gaming headsets
I've tried both the AX 720s and the PX5s, and this Sony Pulse outperforms them both. And they're so damn easy to use. Plug in the USB dongle and boom, 7.1 sound. Amazing. The ease of use is even better for me because we have a PS3 in our living room and bedroom. Oh, and lets not forget that they're rechargeable... **** you batteries!
A tip for you iPhone/iPad owners... if you use your wall charger adapter, you can plug your Sony USB cord into it and use it to charge your headset so you don't have to keep your system turned on
I seriously love these things.Comment

Ha, I discovered the same thing. Nice because I keep my iPhone wall charger plugged in next to my couch.Ryan Spencer

Re: Gaming headsets
Still have my old school Turtle Beach X1, works great. Obviously they're old as hell and don't even support them any longer.

Re: Gaming headsets
I've heard the new Sony headsets are pretty solid. However, I've also heard that the new Afterglow headsets blow the X500's out of the water. After I heard that, I was told the Black Ops II Tango headset kills them all. This was from someone who actually went to a convention in Las Vegas and got to use them. Personally, I liked the old Sony headset, but it was plagued by lag issues from it's wireless use. With 7.1 surround sound, any interference will cause lag with a pure wireless system how Sony does it, which is why I stay away from them now. BOII Tango headset on the 28th for me.Comment

Re: Gaming headsets
Question regarding the Sony Pulse...
Is there a way this can be used as a headset to do a commentary while playing a game? Like, can the mic sync up to your PC while you're listening to your game, etc? Or how do most people do commentaries?Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Gaming headsets
One little annoyance I've found with the Pulse is that if you are recording with a Hauppauge capture device, the audio does not get recorded while using the headset. Makes sense (the audio is being sent through the wireless transmitter and not through the audio cables), but kind of unfortunate. Not sure if that happens with all headsets or what.Last edited by rspencer86; 10-09-2012, 04:36 PM.Ryan Spencer

Re: Gaming headsets
Been looking to upgrade from my TB X11 headset. I was looking at the Astro a40's but no way in hell am I spending 300$+ on a headset. Shipping alone to Canada via ground was 40$.
Anyone know of good headsets in the 100-200$ range?Xbox LIVE GT: oALEXtheGREATo
