One little annoyance I've found with the Pulse is that if you are recording with a Hauppauge capture device, the audio does not get recorded while using the headset. Makes sense (the audio is being sent through the wireless transmitter and not through the audio cables), but kind of unfortunate. Not sure if that happens with all headsets or what.
It's with all headsets. You would have to record yourself on your computer and then combine the audio file with your video recording.

To answer your question Blzer, I could hook up the older headset made by Sony. We used to Skype for Battlefield 3 and that's what I used.

I haven't tried it on my Mac yet, but the Pulse will work for computers and TVs as well. You actually plug the USB dongle in, then run the aux cable from the USB dongle to the headphone jack. It's awesome.

Picked up the Pulse headset based on all the recommendations from everyone here.

After about a few days of messing around with them, they are by far the best gaming headset I've ever used. No static or noise disruption at all. Crystal clear sound at all times.

I was looking for something that would work with my PS3 as well as my computers, and I can say that this performs flawlessly on my Mac. No issues whatsoever.

So if anyone is still on the fence, this is yet another ringing endorsement for the Pulse.

I picked them up at Gamestop, but I've seen them at Best Buy as well. Not sure about other places.

                That was your first mistake.

None for me as well, but all of my local Best Buy stores have them in stock.

I've heard they are supposedly very solid. From what I understood, they are better than TB's and at the level of the top Astros.

I wanted to go big or go home, but I just bought the Sony Pulse when I was at Best Buy trading in some DVD's. I'm just "breaking them in" right now by running some music through them, but I want to try these with MW3 in a little bit.

I've been wanting that model but 250ish plus new. Also not sure how I'd like all the wires. Everything I've read about that model sounds great, love the little mixer/box.

Let me know how they work out for you.

The best headset on the market. I've been using them for a bit now and they put my x500 Turtle Beaches to shame.

I would get them soon. Astro Gaming was bought out by Skullcandy.

                                Re: Gaming headsets

I tried the Pulse with MW3 last night, and I'm hoodwinked. I don't know whether or not I like the pulse activity when using the "shooter" preset with it, simply because there's no gray area of it. Either it doesn't pulse, or it really does. If it didn't feel just like a threshold crossing, then I could see why it would really be great.

I'll keep trying it because it's not as apparent on a higher volume (the volume setting is completely independent of the bass impact setting, so making it louder does not raise the bass one bit), but I expected something a little more precise out of that preset.

None of the other presets really seem to use the bass impact setting quite as much, so I just don't know if things are being done right. Maybe I have a defective unit? What about other people with the Pulse?
