Yeah i forgot to mention wireless i know i was lookin a the turtle beaches but it was usually one system or the otherKenny: Ok Vic, I'm ready for some girl on girl action.
Vic: No Kenny, that's girl versus girl.
Kenny: What's the difference?
Vic: Well, in one, one girl wins. In the other....
Kenny: Everyone wins?!?!

Gaming headsets
I read all your posts on here before purchasing and I read a ton of reddit. I probably would never pay $200+ for a headset as of now (only have 1 game and I play it casually), so the Phillips open back seems awesome. A ton of good reviews when it comes to positional awareness in FPS.
Thanks for the help

Wanted to quickly chime in on the Philips. Been rocking them since December and I absolutely love them.
You'll be happy with the purchase.

Im sure the next Xbox will.Comment

Re: Gaming headsets
However, every one will have atmos. You just need to download the dolby app, pay 12.99 or whatever it is for headset atmos. Then in sound settings choose Atmos as the headset format and "my headset uses optical or hdmi for sound" if it does so.Comment

Re: Gaming headsets
Question: I use a set of Razer Carcharias gaming headphones (old, so comfy and work great, but volume knob janky so have to fiddle to get both ears working right then it's fine).
I wear them primarily at work (so for long periods of time), so comfort is great. I also occasionally do voice/video calls on my laptop, so the microphone is needed (otherwise I'd just do headphones).
Starting to look around (prime day around the corner, otherwise looking for deals in general). Idealy i'd be around 50 bucks, but seeing that the Arctis 3 is decent or the Arctis 5 or Hyperx Alpha are closer to 100 (I'd want them around 75 max probably going that route).
Or is there a more budget but better way to get a mic and headphones separately? I don't need wireless, and I end up plugging into PC or Xbox using the normal plug all the time.
Or just what are your thoughts? I'm fine going cheaper too if there's something good enough. I'm not a huge audio guy, but love the soft cups on my current pair (some sort of fabric not leather) and don't want a pair that grips my head too hard or anything like that.
Edit: found these for 99 on costco...a bit pricey but might be a good deal https://www.theverge.com/circuitbrea...dphones-reviewLast edited by mgoblue; 07-06-2018, 12:39 PM.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Gaming headsets
So I'm actually looking to sell my Astro A50's and get a pair of open-back headphones called the Audio-Technica ATH-R70x (not a gaming headset, just head phones). PM me if you're interested in the A50's.
The main reason is because although I love the A50's, I don't feel like I'm getting my money's worth with them because I'm not using them to the full potential that I will use these other headphones. If a gaming headset costs some money, the several factors included in its cost likely have to do with:
- Brand name (have to get that one out of the way first)
- Newness
- Sound quality and capability (surround? bass extension? etc.)
- Microphone quality
- Wireless/Bluetooth compatibility
- Accessibility with devices
- Durability/build quality
- Comfort
- Internal & external noise-cancelling abilities
- Sound profiles (EQ'd for gaming)
The ones that I have bolded are ones that don't matter to me in the sense that I don't need these A50's with these things in mind. I'm looking to get headphones where I can play games, watch TV and movies, listen to music, etc. I really hardly game anymore, and when I do I'm barely playing online. Even then I hardly talk online at this point. If I do man, I'd rather just get a cheap headset this time around because I am really not giving this thing its value.
Plus, I'm not giving some of my other equipment its value. A couple of weeks ago I rented a movie and had to watch it late night, so I listened to it through my A50's. Since they can't connect to my receiver, I had lip-sync issues. I realized that I have a $2000 piece of equipment lying there waiting for headphones of heavy impedance waiting to be jacked into. That's why I want to spend the same amount of coin on a pair of decent open-backs so I can sell off the gaming headset.
I'm willing to bet that my headset easily has under 50 hours of gaming usage driving the cans themselves. When I first got the headset, I used it to record math lecture videos on YouTube, so only the mic was in use at those times. I have since then gone to three different microphones, and my headset normally collects dust (in a good way for someone buying it, meaning it's still very much "like new"). I simply just don't use it enough to justify its purchase, great as it is. So I'm hoping I can get something like $150-$200 from them on Craigslist. Has anyone tried out the SteelSeries Arctis 7 headset? I looked on rtings.com and they have them as the best gaming headset. Also if I get these would they also work with my Xbox if I have it wired or would I need to get something else in order to use those headphones with my Xbox?Comment

Re: Gaming headsets
Really good Prime Day deal on the Logitech G633 Artemis Spectrium PC/Xbox One/PS4 headset..normally $150, now on sale for $69. Probably ending soon..
I owned this set, it was awesome, took it back for something else though because it didn't stream Xbox One/Phone like I wanted (this was before Spotify on Xbox One lol)
