Re: Gaming headsets
The headset feels and sounds awesome!
I didn't have much time to play with it past getting it set up so it'd work, but I'm very happy with the purchase. It just feels quality, definitely not the cheap feel you get with some headsets.
I have to mess with my cheap 1 to 2 digital audio splitter (using it in reverse to combine xbox and ps3 audio into the headset), but it wasn't working quick last night.
I've read online that these will work as long as one of the 2 optical audios are turned off, but have to test my cables (it may be a cable problem). Anyone have any experience with this? Was trying to limit my purchase for this to the 5 buck monoprice box than anything actually expensive.
I know they have the cheap manual switchers, but then I have to go switch myself lol
I'll give more feedback tonight when I actually have more time to play, but the Bluetooth on PS3 worked great and DCUO sounded awesome in the headset, so clear and distinct with each sound.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Does your TV have opitcal out? That's what I was going to use.The headset feels and sounds awesome!

Oh yeah, back in for headphones again. Realized I just couldn't love the surround sound speaker bar. Waiting for more impressions of the PX5's, since so far, I've read mostly every complaint from the X41's has been addressed.Comment

Re: Gaming headsets
It does, but I'm going through my surround sound system, and that doesn't have optical out. I need to tinker with it a bit more, maybe swap some cables and whatnot and see what happens. It theoretically should work, given that PS3 and Xbox don't send a signal when they're off. I think I have cable issues, maybe the one that comes with the PX5 isn't that quality of a cable (or one of my other ones). I'll let you know if I figure it out.
Once I play more I can give you impressions (I was setting it up after 11 and whatnot, so wasn't going to be up all night).
Any specific questions/issues I can look for so I can answer?Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Gaming headsets
Anybody know if the PX5 (or any of these headsets) can also be used to watch TV with? Also, with the sourround sound wireless headsets, my receiver doesn't have a headphone port.. doest that make me not able to use them?Comment

Re: Gaming headsets
The PX5's take in any digital optical cable, so if your tv or whatnot has a optical out then you could use that to pass into the PX5 and it should stream that to the headset.
Obviously then you have to manage all your optical cables (I may have to buy a switch if I can't figure out my splitter/cables), but it'll workNintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Gaming headsets
That's the one thing that works for me, I have each HDMI cable going into my TV, so I just optical out into the PX5 receiver and will just have to turn them on to stream TV, Blu-ray or 360.Comment

Re: Gaming headsets
Yeah, that may be something I do as well...need to see if both PS3 and 360 will output quality audio on both HDMI and the optical cable at the same time...I'd like to keep the surround sound working still, but also have limited stuff to do when I want to use either.
Do you have surround sound or just use the tv?Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

My receiver died, so just the TV at this point.Yeah, that may be something I do as well...need to see if both PS3 and 360 will output quality audio on both HDMI and the optical cable at the same time...I'd like to keep the surround sound working still, but also have limited stuff to do when I want to use either.

From what I've read, you don't actually have to have 5.1 coming into the receiver to the headphones, as it's not true 5.1/7.1 sound, it's simulated (and they are headphones anyway), so you will still get the surround sound experience.Comment

Re: Gaming headsets
Gotcha...I know PS3 will deliver do dual audio (one optical one hdmi), and I believe Xbox can too, so I may have to switch things up.My receiver died, so just the TV at this point.

The PS3 one going to my TV would then be 2 channel though, but if you think it doesn't matter then that could be the way for me to go...Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Gaming headsets
Explain this to me, maybe i'm not thinking straight. If I put the optical out into the Headset, it wouldn't be wireless anymore, wouldn't it? Or is there some kind of receiver? The PX5's take in any digital optical cable, so if your tv or whatnot has a optical out then you could use that to pass into the PX5 and it should stream that to the headset.

Re: Gaming headsets
He's talking about putting the optical cable into the transmitter unit that the headset comes with, not the headset itself.I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

Re: Gaming headsets
The headset sounded great while playing what little of The Show I could this weekend.
I'm just swapping optical cables into the transmitter for now, haven't had time to mess with it/tinker.
I'd recommend these, though I haven't played much online yet (on Xbox or PS3). I'll let you know more info when I do, just was a crazy busy weekend.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

So what do you think of them so far?
I sold my x41's last week.
And yea these are virtual 5.1 7.1 ss
It can be true since there is only 1 speaker in each cup
But virtual simulated ss is better then direct since it is easier to pick up the low notes on headsets then standard home theater 5.1Comment
