Officially took the plunge and got a PS3!

Well, I don't get it until Christmas.

I am so damn excited to finally play The Show. I have wanted to own a realistic baseball game for so long.

The main reason that I'm getting a PS3 is so I can finally play this game. I owed it to myself and I couldn't keep hoping that 2K would produce a good baseball game.

So what are some things that I should know? It will be cool to watch some movies on Blu Ray...

Netflix on demand will be sick. No more mailing DVD's back...

I still love my NCAA Football, so considering I'll have both systems, which console does the game play better on? I am guessing 360, and you can't beat DK's rosters.

Congrats! In regards to Netflix, you do realize you had that ability on your 360 as well right? Either way, while the instant streaming selection has gotten a ton, and I mean a TON, better, you still don't have the amount of choices that you do through DVD/Bluray... So I wouldn't recommend canceling that portion of your subscription. The nice thing about the PS3 version of streaming Netflix is it supports 1080p and 5.1 DD surround.

Have fun buddy, and do yourself a favor; go buy Uncharted 1 and 2 IMMEDIATELY. After that, proceed to buy just about every other PS3 exclusive you can, they're almost all fantastic.

The new little big planet is coming soon and is a must buy. You can get the first one cheap now.
Demons Souls
MLB The Show- yeah I know the new one is around the corners but you can get 2010 for 30 ish dollars used.
I tried both Madden and NCAA on both systems and they are smoother on the 360

If you need a headset....Get yourself either a Tritton or Turtle Beach headset. Get the version that works on both systems. I just bought the Tritton 180 and love it. It's not the best Tritton but it sounds great.

Start getting some blurays!!

Yeah, I get Netflix on the 360 as well, but I was under the impression that Netflix on the PS3 is not restricted, meaning that the mail-in option becomes unnecessary now. With the 360, they only released select movies to watch on-demand.

also, take a long look at the PSN downloadable games. There are truly some great games on there too. Sony seems to have a lot of great developers working on download titles.

How do you get your PS3 connected to the internet? Is it the same with a 360, through an ethernet cable? That's what I use now... I have Qwest internet with a modem (crappy, I know).

Or is wireless?

Nope, same movies. Both have the option to do the on demand option only and not get a disc anymore, it's 7.99 a month.
