    HDMI cables differences

What is the difference between the the $25-30 HDMI cables, to the $10 one sold at Walmart? I asked the video game department representative there (Walmart), and he said he uses the cheap one and it works great. Any thoughts?

Unless you are covering a great distance (50 ft. or more) there should be absolutely no difference. It's a digital signal, so all or nothing.

HDMI cables are even cheaper on amazon. $2.78 shipped

Well, I don't buy online, but thanks - and it's good to know.

What's funny, these $10 cables come with silver or gold colors. I have no idea what the difference is, or why they would even mention it on the box that it's golden... Is there a difference between the silver and golden ones (they both cost $10)?

yep, buy the cheapest ones you can find (usually online). And buy the shortest cable you can get away with (the quality tends to degrade the further it has to travel as the cable gets tangled and what not).

I laugh everytime I go somewhere like best buy and see those ridiculously expensive cables. It's a crime they can get away with selling that stuff for 10x (sometimes more) what its worth

Yeah, the cables I've seen are 6 feet long, which is more than enough. And yeah, $10 will be my limit for this cable.......once I get a PS3, of course. Just wanted to know the differences, so I know what to buy when the time comes.

          Thanks guys!

                Durability

You'll get the same picture whether you have HDMI cables that cost $1 or $5000...
