Faint Lines on PS3 games! Please Help!

Okay, so I got a ps3 slim and got a hdmi cable. I have a Panasonic Veira with 720p resolution. I have noticed that with just about all my games that a faint line goes through the screen horizontally up and down and it sometimes lags the graphics a bit. I have tried changing the outlet the PS3 is plugged into, and I have manually changed the resolution on the ps3 to only display 720p. I have tried different hdmi cables, and still no fix. What could the problem be?

Please Help!

The games are Uncharted (when just running around a level), Heavy Rain (again, just exploring levels), and Killzone 2 (during the main menu when I scroll through the many options).

Do you mean like "tearing"? I've seen it in GT5 but that's it, and it doesn't seem to affect anything in my game. I'm sorry, I'm not sure what you're talking about otherwise.

Did you try a different HDMI port on your TV? Im no expert so Im just spit balling ideas here but if that doesnt do it then try getting one of those grounding adapters for your PS3 and see if its a grounding issue causing the lines. It looks something like this....

The PS3 doesn't use a grounded cable, so using that would do nothing.

Not knowing exactly what you are looking at, it's tough to say what you have going on (though it's not screen tearing since it's also vertical). Unplug your cable (TV) and see if that changes things. If it works (and I suspect it might) the fix is a grounded surge protector that also protects coax connections.

Edit: Just wanted to clarify that the PS3 slim doesn't use a grounded cable.

Just wondering if you get the same problem with the RCA cables? If it happens with the RCA also I would say you have a video card problem. If not possibly a HDMI (on PS3) problem

I chad the same problem as the OP when I got my ps3 a few years ago. I got one of those adapters and haven't had a problem since.
