I was thinking maybe a slim ps3 if they didn't have enough.

Neither have I. Maybe since the Amazon listing had no mention of it being a shooter grip at all, they wont cancel them? Or maybe at least give a gift card?

Amazon is still selling through Target.com.

I'm positive you won't receive anything if Target refuses to hand out anything. It wasn't Amazon's fault, but Target's.

I received one....but I don't know what, if anything, can be done about it.

          Dear Amazon Customer,

We are contacting you regarding your order (# here) from the Target store at Amazon.com. We recently became aware of mismatched price and product information which resulted in the discontinued Sony PS3 Hardware System and the PlayStation 3 Move Advanced Shooter Grip being displayed incorrectly.

We are sorry, but we are unable to offer you either of these items at this time and have canceled your order. Your credit card was not charged.
          We sincerely regret this inconvenience.

For more details on our pricing and cancellation policy please see Target.com:

I don't know about you but I'm really looking forward to playing MLB The Show 11 on my brand new $40 PS3. It's going to be a great summer!

Seriously, though, you're absolutely correct. There's probably hundreds, if not thousands, of people who put in orders just for the hell of it. Even if they were legally bound to fulfill the orders -- which they're not, as far as I know -- they couldn't do it.

But whoever screwed that up does deserve to be slapped.
It's on me. I shook his hand too hard. It was a hard ... kind of a slap-shake.

Yep, just got the same notice from Amazon, basically saying you're S.O.L.
Oh, well, nothing gained, nothing lost. For a couple of minutes, after I initially put in the order with Amazon, I thought just maybe it was my lucky day. Then I quickly realized how ridiculous it was to think anybody could actually get a new PS3 for $39.99.

DAMN YOU MLB 2K!!!! Why do you have to suck so badly?

Amazon should give VOD bucks to its customers. It's not like that "costs" them anything.

I imagine somewhere in the fine print of buying something online it protects them.

That reinforces my point. "Fine print". The "we are never responsible, when we are being irresponsible" clause.

I remember when there never used to be fine print, hell most stores are snakes and do not price match or get "special models" made for them so they do not have to PM, when the model is identical to the others, only a number or letter altered.

But we "accept the fine print" cause we are conditioned to.

I must be getting old. But yeah, never any justice for the consumer anymore.

Well, to be fair Nem, the Target add DOES show the 60gb console, but if you read the "Product Description" DIRECTLY BELOW, it clearly states it's for a controller... and that is NOT in fine print. Now if the ENTIRE page read that this was for a console, I'd agree with your point, but it does not, and instead of blaming the store for a typo, sometimes we need to blame the people who don't read the add before they make a purchase.

This was just a mistake. A store does not have to sell you an item that is incorrectly priced (although some will do so for "good will")
If they are refused to cancel orders for the PS3 control grip made due to their deceptive ad, then it could be false advertising.
