It's MUCH newer, nearly as powerful, and can do 3D without glasses, all while being shrunken down to something that is portable. It makes perfect sense.

The consoles you game on were $400 and $600 at launch respectively.

They are approaching 5 and 6 years old now... so for them to be still the price range they are ($300 and $200) is still pretty pricey all things considered.

Haldheld being half of that is not bad... personally I think Nintendo overcharges for what you get in the long run, but still not unrealistic considering the market prices of the consoles.

If Nintendo was releasing Ocarina, MGS, Kid Icarus, and SSFIV on launch I would have little choice but to get one. Since only one of those is coming out what appears to be from launch till June then I will wait and see how it all plays out.

I don't make these. I do a quick Google search and find what I'm expecting. There was one for the DS Phat, there was one for the Wii. There will be one with the 3DS. I will find it on Google and post it.

yeah i know. i still find it sort of silly but Nintendo can get away with it though. they leave the PSP in the dust sales wise and everyone from older folks to little kids play them.

The thing that gets me is that not only do they do what you are talking about, but games wise they just seem to rehash and recycle.

I am going to have to get my hands on one and be very impressed before I shell out the dough. I predict the first wave of titles wont do it for me to make an investment but later on it probably will.

Preordered the blue one for my gf today. Prob end up getting myself a black one too lol.

Plus the psp2 later this year
