Re: New Nintendo Console in 2012?
Yeah, I'd really have to think super hard about another Nintendo console.
3DS isn't impressing me at all, Wii had 99% crap games and not really even that many of the awesome 1st party games (no Zelda for how long?). How long ago was the last "must have" Wii game released? I can't even think of one lol.
Nintendo has to win back a lot of gamers, though I'm sure the casual group will eat up whatever they sell.
That said, I too sold my Wii about a month agoComment

well it's nintendo, so the rumors going from more powerful than a ps3 to just a bit better than a 360 is more believable. Keeping it conservative and familiar makes it easier for the indifferent 3rd parties to just throw them current gen ports. It's gotta have a relatively modern gpu though, and more RAM would still be an improvement.
I don't know what it really does for them though if true. It puts the console in a dreamcast position with 3rd parties, it's a crap shoot if the wii crowd follows them, and the ps3/360 will be cheap as hell by 2012 for people still holding out for those type of games.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Re: New Nintendo Console in 2012?
I'll still buy it. I don't understand all the hating on the Wii, as it's been a fun console, and I've always enjoyed the Mario and Zelda games and recently Kirby's **** Yarn and Donkey Kong Country Returns have been games that in my opinion were amazing. Kirby was such a uniquely stylized game that would never have been released on the the "big boy" consoles.
Plus, we still enjoy Wii Sports battles, have had fun with Wii Party, and frankly, that's what matters. My son has started enjoying the catalog of old NES/SNES games and at it's absolute worse, it's a diversion when I'm downstairs doing laundry.
Bring on a new console, Nintendo. Let the haters hate.
Those of us saying we don't like the Wii are the ones looking for games like Grand Theft Auto, Heavy Rain, and of course sports games, which just aren't possible to get on the Wii. For example, instead of playing NHL 11, I'd be forced to play NHL Slapshot.
Like Dave said, the 18-34 crowd that likes to sit and play their games with a controller, with the best graphics and the best mature games are the ones Nintendo didn't cater to with the Wii and I think are trying to with this system. It's not hating.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

Re: New Nintendo Console in 2012?
I don't get what Nintendo plans to accomplish with this. What is the point of creating a console, barely more powerful than the others consoles, which are already outdated(in terms of tech already available for a PC)? The whole point of a new console is the hardware, which allows you to push games above and beyond of what was previously thought possible. This just seems redundant in so many ways, unless this consoles new controls are really revolutionary, this is just a Wii 1.5.-Ohio State-

Re: New Nintendo Console in 2012?
Yea I have a Wii and I don't think I have turned it on in over a year and some. The games are horrible and they forgot why people play. They made a kiddie system and that was their focus. They no longer have my attention and I have no intention of buying another console from them.Comment

Re: New Nintendo Console in 2012?
I will reserve judgment till I actually see it at E3 or wherever. Nintendo may go in a totally different direction, at this point no one knows.
Nintendo never fails though in terms of makings consoles/games that are fun to play.Comment

Sure the system has outsold (but slowing big time, thus price cut)....
But software sales where it counts as all the great games go to 360 and PS3.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

It's not "haters hating", it's just that you are part of the crowd Nintendo tried (and succeeded) to cater to with the Wii.

Re: New Nintendo Console in 2012?
I figured this would be said, but I have all the systems and the vast majority of my gaming is on 360 and PS3. Honestly, the catering to the 18-34 is what gets us endless sequels and a major lack of innovation in our hobby. The Wii is fun for what it is, and Nintendo has never pretended that it's something else.
Not everything has to "innovate" and reinvent the wheel. That IMO, is the most overused term in gaming. But to refine and evolve is good enough sometimes, and we DO get that.
The Wii is not a system for a hardcore gamer to just own it and only it. That is the point 99% on here make.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Re: New Nintendo Console in 2012?
As to the sequels, sure they are sequels, but they are INNOVATIVE sequels, LOL. Not just COD in a different era (and for the record, I exclude sports game from the innovation conversation as their annual release has long been established).
Whatever, I like the Wii for what it provides, it's been a good addition to our home, and I get flamed on OS for saying something positive about the little white box, which incidentally, has been as failure prone as my 360 (three replacements each and counting).

Where did you get flames by me. You are taking **** way too personal.
All I am doing is reiterating a point as to why people on here, a hardcore sports gaming site, have their opinions on the Wii. And you reinforce what I said.
It is not a system for the hardcore gamer to just own and only own. Is all. You are reading too much into it.
I fail to see how Nintendo "innovates" every Mario and Zelda sequel. But to each their own.
Like I said. Most overused term in gaming. And I can care less for CoD. There are more games than just that one.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment
