Yeah, that is why I am excited to see the integration features with the NGP to the PS3/4.

I don't get any of their pricing at the moment at all either. The DS Lite should be under $100, while the DSi should be $120....etc.

Which is like I said, you will be lucky to see sub $300 for 360 like tech in their next console.

The Wii should be $99 considering the components. But Nintendo likes big profits, and people still buy.

I don't like this because I wonder if this will push Sony to make the PS4 and I'm not ready for it but it will be interesting to see if nintendo can match the Wii with sales.

I doubt that will be the case. First of all I don't think that the Wii and the PS or Xbox are really in a lot of direct competition, seeing as they offer completely different experiences and are marketed toward generally different crowds. Also, in the past even when a direct competitor releases their console ahead of Sony's expected release date they don't rush to produce theirs at the same time (Sega released the Saturn well before the PS1 launched, as did the 360 before the PS3).

Just to clarify, when I was talking about Nintendo's pricing, I was talking about when they first launch the system.

Here is the thing, if it pushes Sony to make a PS4......who says you have to jump on it right away. Sony will still support games on the PS3 and it will give them time to work out any kinks in the PS4 hardware gaming library as we learned this generation of gaming.

Re: New Nintendo Console in 2012?

Rumors now out there that Rockstar has a dev kit and is looking to have GTA V out by launch for the new system.
If true, I love it. 3rd party support is key.

Always have been and always will be a Nintendo fan [not fanboy lol] first and foremost.
They've brought me 25 years of gaming pleasure. So I will always give them a look.

If Nintendo can finally get the true GTA games on their system, that's huge.

except that Sony lost a lot of mindshare to the 360 this gen. MS was out first and got the 3rd parties to lead with their console as the ps3 struggled even after launch. If the next nintendo console is magical enough to get 3rd party interest and core gamers to buy, it definitely is a threat to MS and Sony. That's why it'll be interesting to see what this console really is, since it'll could force MS and Sony to step up their plans for 2013.

If it ends up only being a little more powerful than the current gen hardware, MS and Sony can afford to wait a bit. They already have HD motion gaming and a lower price tag to push on current wii owners, and the core gamers won't go anywhere with the next wii just getting current gen ports.

That is why I also think that both consoles need a price drop going into the fall, even if its $50+ on all their sku's. When I was in BBY today they had lowered the PS3 Move Bundle to $349 from $399.....so that can be a sign. If the 4gb 360 can get down to $130-$150 range and PS3 @ $199 with the Wii 2 coming in at 360 graphics, then it can buy these guys another year.

Sony is already making the PS4, as well as MSFT with the next Xbox.

It wont push them, because this thing is not going to blow the other two out of the water with graphics. It will look on par. The tech sheet shows it is not much more than a 360, and will be discernible, and the majority of the games will be 360 ports it sounds like.

Not to mention, Nintendo has the WORST online structure, in which most stick to MSFT or PS3 for.

It will be business as usual, you will hear announcements for the other two probably end of this year or next year E3. All the third party games still got to the PS3/360, and Nintendo does not have the best relationships like the other two do to pull away where the bread and butter is.

Rumor is it could be 80% more powerful than the 360

Nintendo online stinks now. But don't you think that's an area they will improve upon if they want to compete?

As far as third party games, its sales that matters. Money buys relationships.
