Re: New Nintendo Console in 2012?
Great games are great games regardless of graphics.
Pac-man is still a great game today despite the fact it could only display 16 colors. Super Mario and Sonic are still great games today even though they are 16-bit 2D affairs. Metal Gear Solid is still a great game today even though there are likely more triangles in a MGS4 pistol than there are in an entire MGS1 scene. Doom, Wolfenstein, and Duke Nukem 3D are still great games today, regardless of the fact that they don't have ridiculous modern-day shaders and particle effects of the Call of Duty games of today's gaming scene.Comment

Re: New Nintendo Console in 2012?
The problem is, it's too late to the game.
We as working adults don't see the purpose, but to every mind blinded parent. They see new Nintendo and go shelling out bucks for the kids, mainly because they aren't gamers and don't know what they are buying.
The hardcore, which seems to be the minority now, in Nintendo's budget will just sit back and watch them get more rich on parents who don't know any better.
Some of us who still remember those NES and SNES days, will sit back and hope that there are a few titles that quench our thirst and might actually scoop one up.
I will say this, if it has a Wii remote, it's a no buy, if it has a gamecube controller, it's a no buy! They will have to come up with something more fun, for those who don't want motion controller, and have a design to where it's not funky looking and annoying on the fingers.
80% more powerful than the 360, that is funny! And even more insulting that it took 5 years to make one. Well in 2 years the new Xbox will be 1000% more powerful than Nintendo's console...(See the irony?)
Either way let's enjoy our current gen consoles and our monster PC's and just sit back and see how things play out.Comment

Re: New Nintendo Console in 2012?
^ They've already stated that it will have a new remote. It will have dual analogs similar to today's controllers, but will feature a six inch touch screen display, and you'll be able to stream your games TO said remote.
Now whether that is your cup of tea or not is another story, but that is certainly different than anything else on the market at this time.Comment

And the NGP when that hits, but much better with the dual analogs.
Though we will see what they mean by streaming your games... whether it is just features in game, or the game itself... defeats the whole purpose of HDTV gaming I would think, and how good will these screens be to translate if that is the case.
It is Nintendo, I don't see them breaking the bank on high quality screens for "controllers".Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Not different, just updated and recycled from previous consoles...Comment

Like streaming PS3 games to the PSP

Who knows at this point though.Comment

Lol, c'mon, that little monotone color VMU screen holding data is slightly different than having a full-fledged screen on your controller that you can potentially play your games on without having to turn on the TV.Comment
