The gamepad has really grown on me, and I definitely prefer it to the pro now.

The only drawback to the pad is battery life, but I usually don't play more than a couple of hours at a time. Plus, I have an outlet right next to the edge of the couch I always sit on, so it's no biggie to plug and play either.

I thought the gamepad was going to be awkward at first, but I actually really like it now. For whatever the reason, it feels very comfortable in my hands.
We took it out of the box briefly just to see how it felt. I liked how it felt. Very light and comfortable. Can't wait to see the kids faces when they get it (and they better love it!).

Yeah, it's a good controller. Light weight, but it feels almost as solid as the 360 controller. My only complaint with the wireless pro, and the Wii U controllers in general, is that the trigger buttons aren't analog.

I just realized I didn't really have any use for it. I ended up liking the feel of the gamepad over the pro, and I knew the wireless pro was only going to collect dust if I didn't return it.
      Now, more than ever

If anyone's having problems finding a Wii U, they're selling for near cost already on Ebay, not going to be a huge reseller market for long it appears.

Unfortunately, my parent are looking one through Sears, not eBay...

Ebay's sales are indicative of how hot the reseller market is/isn't, or over saturated. Means SKUs at retail stores are more likely go to end users - rather than resellers that are still trying to make money from the stock they've already bought.

So yeah, I'd keep on watching Sears then.

I had pre-ordered two deluxes - one for me and one to sell. I ended up returning the extra one to the store. I had a basic one pre-ordered but had cancelled that one before it shipped. When I returned it at Best Buy there were no deluxes on the floor but 2-3 basic models. Nobody will pay a lot of money for a deluxe when you can get a basic and just buy an external hard drive and Nintendo Land with the savings and a little extra cash. The Wii U will still sell out through Christmas and may be harder to find as we get closer to it but I don't think there is a crazy high demand right now.

The general public still seems unaware of the Wii U. A mom at work with young kids had never heard of it when I mentioned it the other day. That's not a big deal right now but after Christmas the general public needs to know. Marketing hasn't been that great imo.

                  Re: Wii U Discussion

Was at the ToysRUs in Amarillo while visiting family this weekend. On Saturday, in the afternoon, they had stacks of Wii-Us, both basic and deluxe sets and none were selling. Saw them, and didn't see any reason (or game) that made me want to buy the unit. It will probably take a new Mario, Zelda, or Metroid game to get me to purchase the console.

Hey Skyboxer can you use the wireless pro controller to play Madden. I'm assuming you can but just want to make sure. Also it sounds cool to use the gamepad to choose plays but can I just use the pro controller to do that? Basically I just want to make sure they aren't forcing you to use the gamepad for Madden if you don't want to.

Yes to the pro controller although I never used it. I'm assuming with the pro controller you can pick plays the PS3/360 way. I love using the pad though as everything is right there and even subbing is a breeze.
