Question about Best Buy 360 transfer kit

I noticed the other in Best Buy that they were selling some sort of 360 transfer kit. Is this something I could use to download files off my CPU and then import them onto my 360?

The main reason I ask is because I'm looking to get a certain roster file for NHL 11, but don't have a transfer kit (older 360) and would need one to do so.

I'm guessing it's for transferring from a 20 gb hard drive to a larger hard drive when upgrading. But I'm not sure.

Yes the transfer kit is just for transferring files from one Xbox hard drive to another Xbox hard drive.

Is this for the larger hard drive?

If so, it works very well. The process of moving data from the smaller drive to the larger one is quite simple.

Then, you can download Xport for your PC. Moving downloaded files from your PC to your hard drive as simple as plugging the transfer cable into the hard drive, and then connecting the cable to the USB port in your computer.

However, if you are getting PetrPuck's rosters (I'm guessing) you can simply use the thumb drive to do so. I used CONcept and the USBXTAFGUI to do so and it was very simple to do (following the directions given). You wouldn't need to waste your money on the transfer kit - just the USB thumb drive (with appropriate memory).

Does it matter that I have an older 360 to do that, Mike? I'm not sure where the USB plug-in for that would be. If you could PM me the steps used to getting that roster, that would be awesome.

Re: Question about Best Buy 360 transfer kit

Dan... I don't really understand how this works. I followed the directions at PP's site to a T and got it to work.

I used a thumb drive - it's rather large in memory so it was able to handle the file. You plug it into the usb port on the front of your 360. format it so the 360 will recognize it.

You then need to put a generic NHL game save onto the usb stick. take it out and then plug it into your pc. you then need to follow the steps he provided on moving it from your pc to your 360. you can use Modio (I used CONcept) and that other thing I mentioned above.

Again, I'm no techie, not even close. I think he also has a video tutorial on his site that might help you. Wish I was more help, I'm just not wired this way.
