Re: Playstation Network and Discussion - The New Beginning
Pretty sure a good number of people use the same password for multiple things. Which could link those registered there to a PSN account.Comment

Re: Playstation Network and Discussion - The New Beginning
Well you did put "again" which implied that it was Sony related... So, with that logic, we might as well post any company or site that gets hacked, as we may use the same login info on PSN. Lastly, PSU.com stated that all their passwords were encrypted (although that should be taken with a grain of salt.)

LOL, I'm sure that was unintentional, but they use VBB which uses a salted hash function on passwords, so not encrypted (but not unsafe).
Also trying to call this, in any way, an attack on PSN or Sony is absurd.Comment

Re: Playstation Network and Discussion - The New Beginning
Again a huge percentage of people who use multiple Sony services use the same password for login. Sony as a company is under attack and what I posted may make a fellow OSer change his or her information.Comment

Re: Playstation Network and Discussion - The New Beginning
For one, that's not how you put the original posts (why you felt the need to spam two threads with it I'll never know). You put, in the PSN thread, "someone tried to hack them again" which is just patently not true based on the link you gave.
Secondly, getting PSN passwords by hacking another site is in no way hacking PSN or Sony. Sony doesn't lose out in that scenario, the only losers are the end users. More than likely this is a spurned user, another site or just one of the many random forum hacks to mine username and password info.
Lastly, do you really think people need you to troll this thread posting horribly misleading info to tell them what they've been hearing for a month now about not using the same password for multiple sites? I think they got that hint when the breach first happened and they had to go change every password for every site.Comment
