How the hell do you change your password?

I have tried to log in three times and it keeps saying that it has sent me an e-mail explaining the steps to follow and I have not received this e-mail yet. I just tried again and it says there was a server error. This sucks.

you shouldn't need to do anything with your email. sign in on psn and they will ask you to change your password right on the spot

Password change worked fine for me, and I'm back online.

FWIW, my current PS3 is not the one I created this account on (this is my 3rd PS3), so that shouldn't be an issue.

Everybody i've talked to online hasn't had a problem with that at all. Many of my friends aren't using their original PS3.

You had a PSN account and had downloaded games before...? I thought you have. That email was supposed to be for people that hadn't created an online account yet. I hope your situation gets sorted out.

Yeah, I've had a PS3 for over a year. I did an internet search and it seems that a lot of people are having the same issue that I am and that we will in fact need to confirm who we are via e-mail.
