    Re: Microsoft E3 2011 Discussion Thread (Press - 6/6)

Looking forward to E3 in general, but the MS conference is where a ton of the news for me personally comes from. I'm looking forward to seeing Kinect "enhancing" hardcore games alongside the controller, which is why I was excited about the tech in the first place. Also interested in hearing what Xbox Live "diamond" actually consists of. If it includes the rumored Zune Pass, I might actually bite as I am planning on getting a WP7 phone soon.

As a Halo fan, interested in seeing what 343i announces, if anything at all (Halo CE campaign remake with a Reach multiplayer disc with new maps on it is my guess, with a "Halo 4" possibly in 2012).

Oh yeah I know that.. just saying there is a possibility that it is useful to some people...
      Not me though

And like you it's the 3rd party stuff and really the arcade game aspect I look forward to the most anymore.

        lol...
Yeah it's a weird situation and I also don't see where the effort to get this "feature" done is really profitable...
I'm not a fan of the Kinect stuff so this may be a huge dissapponting E3 from MS for me this year.

          My take:

"Winning" E3 these days means your story winds up in mainstream sources. When the Huffington Post is reporting about the new Wii (which they were yesterday) then that is exposure to a lot of people. I am curious to see what MS can pull off to get the attention of consumers. Did they spend it all on Kinect last year? Will they have some kind of surprise that no one sees coming? As a gamer I can only hope they show off a few surprises that get me excited. I would love to hear Knights of the Old Republic is going to come to the 360.

If that happened, which I doubt but would love, it would be after Mass Effect 3 and The Old Republic come out.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

There are a lot of games on the horizon, and while MS will tout there new peripherals like possible internet TV and new brands being added, I'm sure they will incorporate what is at the core of the 360, and that is gaming.

These things have become so content rich I find it impossible to be disappointed.

They want us to pay to watch TV on our 360 as opposed to just...ya know...turning it off and watching it normally. How is that useful or worth paying for?
To me, I see it somewhat like the PS3 and its bluray player... I could have a bluray player, or I could have a bluray player that also lets me play games. Now, I could theoretically get rid of my cable box, and instead have a cable box that also plays games.

For someone like me, who already has a PS3 and cable tv, this could be who they are looking to suck into the 360 world. I have tv anyway, why not also be able to play some other games that I previously couldn't?

I really couldn't care less about this XBOX diamond. There is no way I will ever be getting this. The xbox is on enough as it is, this is all unnescesary to me.

But whatever... as long as I get to see some stuff that I am interested in like actual games and the improvement of kinect games.

I think im looking forward to sony more than microsoft this year even though I play my xbox much more than my PS3.

I'm kind of interested in the Diamond service if it is cheap and everything is HD. Doesn't mean I'll get it, but they have my attention.

It's like the '06 conference when everything leaked prior. Interested to see what 343 does with Halo 4.

More excited for Kinect Sports: Season 2 than Halo 4.

I'd like to see what they do with Kinect Sports S2, the first game was a total blast.
