I stay in a college dorm, and this summer I've been switching my Internet cord between the XBOX and my computer with no trouble. Never had a problem connecting with either.
However, after about a week of not playing the 360, I switched the cord back to the 360 tonight, only to be informed my IP settings needed to be adjusted to automatic. Did that without a hitch, but was then told my MTU settings didn't meet the minimum. Don't understand this as my XBOX 360 is plugged straight into the wall. Never had this issue before all summer.
As you can tell, despite my best efforts, I am not technologically proficient. Searches on the web have yielded nothing, and simple fixes like unplugging everything and starting from scratch haven't worked either.
The computer still works fine when I connect it to the wall. But upon returning the cord to the XBOX, I'm met with the same error message regarding MTU configuration.
Help? Thanks in advance.
