    Re: Xbox One

I bought my XBOX One with the Halo MCC bundle. It took about 17 hours for that to install. I couldn't believe it. I still can't believe that even with a disc you need to "download and install" the game to your hard drive. Like bry said, gone are the days of just popping I'm a game and playing. You certainly need to plan ahead if you are going to be playing a new game.

How bad is your internet? Also, for those complaining install the disc while it is no connected to the internet if you want to avoid having to download the patches first.

I have a good internet connection. I think it was the way my xbox settings were set and it kept shutting off after inactivity.

Yes those days are long gone. The games are way too demanding to run off a disk now.

When I buy a new game I pop it in the drive and it's always ready by the time I get done my post work routine on that day. I always tell it to update the game later though so it doesn't download the update first.

I get a game and install it, go to bed and wake up and it's ready to play is how I do it.

I don't mind the installs. What annoys me is when I go to a game I haven't played in a bit, there is almost always an update. Nice that games get updated, but not good for spontaneous gameplay. Especially annoying while in a party and wd decide to switch games. Inevitability we wont be able to switch over because someone in the party will need an update.

With automatic updates I've luckily never had this, but a party would be different

                      Instant on mode solves this.

Ideally, yeah. I've had issues with both consoles not installing updates, and other times when it's worked as intended.

Yeah, when I downloaded Halo MCC collection I started it like 7-8 pm that night and it still wasn't at 100% when I checked it before work the next day. With that said it is four games so it would obviously take longer than just one game, but still I figured it would be ready in less than 12 hours.

It doesn't download the entire game. You have it wrong. It doesn't download the 40gb game. It downloads the 8gb patch, installs the 40gb from disc, then installs the 8gb patch over it.

I think the bundles come with digital codes though. So it does download the whole game.
