I can't believe I'm typing this, but i'm thinking of getting an XB1.
That's not a shot against MS or the XB, it's just that I've owned both consoles since PS1 days and I was determined not to do that this generation.
We have a PS4 and the family's happy with it, but it's mainly being used by my sons in the basement.
(I was also a big XB and 360 guy).

With the deals going on right now, it's hard to turn down a chance to get the Holiday bundle of a 1TB console, GoW, both Tomb Raider games, Replay and One(?).

I love the GoW series and I'd love to have State of Decay as well as EA Access.
It would go upstairs where I'd have sole possession of it.
I'm sure my wife would hate me for buying it though, haha.

If I were to get one, is the Kinect needed?
Currently I have a nearly 10YO Samsung Plasma, sound bar and Bell HD receiver for TV.
Can the Kinect run all those things?
Or should I just skip that for now?

I bought a PS4 at launch and waited to get an X1 until October 2nd 2015. I wanted to play Forza 6, Halo 5, and The new Tomb Raider game. My only complaints with the X1 are, there is no way to turn the vibration off in the settings for ALL games, and now I'm spending twice as much time gaming as I did with just the PS4.

I use my X1 as a gaming console, no kinect , no TV running through it, just games. EA Access is a great deal , and I'm really enjoying the backward compatibility feature. Buy one , you will have twice the fun, I just hope you have the time.

I plan to keep my Xbox 360 around as I know some games I still play probably won't ever be backward compatible or will take a long time (Tiger 14 for example).

Kind of a weird question but are you guys installing all eligible Xbox 360 games on your Xbox One? I don't know why it's bugging me but having games being on both consoles now is making me decide which I want it on, if that makes sense. Or on both.

So for anyone keeping their Xbox 360 around, are you just installing everything available from the Xbox 360 on the Xbox One? I don't know if this question even makes sense, lol.

Ditched my 360 a long time ago but every game I 'own' I've been installing on Xbox One.

You're saying if it was a better game, it would be game of the year.

Actually #3 is also a fact and the biased media definitely tore up this game, even though reviewers gave it high scores...The media made it sound like they should just wait til the Definitive PS4 version comes out...

So no it's not being a fanboy.... a lot of unbiased media sites have stated the same thing, as to why it's not selling well...including the comment about releasing during fallout...

Actually #3 is also a fact and the biased media definitely tore up this game, even though reviewers gave it high scores...The media made it sound like they should just wait til the Definitive PS4 version comes out...

But no I have not completed any games 100% in 2015. I'm still on 99% with Ryse lol not even close with any other game.

Yeah I beat that 100% the other month....posted a image on Twitter back in November...
Working on Rise of the Tomb Raider now 80%...This game has so much hidden stuff and unlocks new areas once you get your language up to read the murals....

It's never ending...lol

Talking digital sales?...only reason I'm mostly disc based....

Hate seeing those deals and the disc cheaper in store....I'd forgo trade in ability for enough of a deal

Waiting for the definitive edition of a lot of games is the smart thing to do. It's not biased to say "wait for a definitive edition." None of your other starting paragraph made sense.

You mean they were critical? Like reviews are supposed to be? While still giving it the scores it deserves? Stop the presses.

As to being released during fallout? Yeah, of course that will lower sales. The discussion wasn't about sales though.

As everyone here knows, im way more of a Sony and PlayStation fanboy than Microsoft and Xbox One but even I agree with what NYG and shadows said.

Critics are full of crap. Look at MGSV. Reviewers didn't even complete the game and were in a room playing the game in what was a review boot camp held by Konami who paid for all those reviewers to go play and review the game. If anything, Mad Max was the better game on September 1st just like ROTTR was the better game on November 10th.

If anyone who owns an Xbox One and who enjoyed the 2013 Tomb Raider should definitely pick up the game and play through it. I purchased an Xbox One simply because I didn't want to wait for the definitive edition on PS4. And considering the fact that the next game im playing on Xbox One is Quantum Break, ROTTR had to be damn good for me to purchase an Xbox One again and thankfully, it was well worth the purchase.

There are a lot of opinions there, with zero facts to back them up.

You could always, you know, give examples of big sites being biased against the XBOne. Until then, it's just silly and you picking up on things that aren't there.

Looks like Microsoft is in a news blitz right now. They announced Halo 5, Gears Remastered, Forza 6, and Tomb Raider all sold over one million (shipped or sold unclear). They've also shed some light on their 2016 release schedule.
