    Re: Xbox One

    Quick question -

With the huge anniversary console update being available for previewers, have they added an on/off option for the controller vibration? Thanks.

This update sounds amazing if it hears you better. I even read an article where they talked about how he used to sound like he was talking to a dog, now it's more intuitive and easy. Fingers crossed.
Initial impressions very good, just some stuff to get used to. Hey Cortana is a mouthful when you've used simply 'Xbox' since the release of the original Kinect.

Edit: Yeah, this is awesome. Xbox is asleep... say 'hey Cortana' and the Kinect light comes on' then 'Xbox On' and you're in business.

Still solidly in placebo territory but feels a lot more responsive. Part of this is because we are Cortana thinking and that feedback is great because with the old Xbox command it would just think then give us a tone of failure, while Cortana gives us the search results for Sillect rather than passing my select command on to the OS.

        Re: Xbox One

I have an external 4TB drive hooked up to my Xbox One and the console is set to instant on or whatever the setting is that allows auto updating. Drive is externally powered and not a portable.

Every time I turn my Xbox on, the games and apps area is empty. Takes 1-2 minutes for it to refresh and show my games and all my queue items remain and continue to download. They seem to be only downloading when the Xbox is on because the same items from when I last turned it off (around two weeks ago) are still there.

I hear the external drive firing up from time to time when the Xbox is off. I assume this is to check for title updates and auto download them but if so, why are my queue items just sitting there? At the moment, it's games with gold items that I buy, select install, turn off the Xbox and weeks later, they're still there.

Shouldn't instant on or auto install or whatever it's called do all this whilst the console is off so I don't have to do it when I fire up the console?

I have a question, I'm pretty sure I know the answer but want to check anyway. I have the 1TB Forza 6 console. I'm going to sell it, my question is would there be anyway I can allow the buyer to be able to have access to the Forza 6 Digital game? I'm guess no, but don't know if there may be a way to do this.
          Thanks

            Re: Xbox One

The more I think about having to switch to "hey cortana" the more awful it sounds. Will probably be using voice commands a lot less now. Which is annoying because they worked great for me as is with my current setup.

There are two ways and both I would not recommend

              1. Give him access to your xbox live account (bad idea)

              2. Make your console a home console which means anyone logged into to their own profile on your xbox one will be able to download your games that you have digitally own. The game will never belong to that person though and they would not be able to make the console their own to perhaps share with his friends or family.

Forza is cheap on Amazon so no need to do the steps above

Thanks! Seems like it'll pick your voice up better during regular commands too, right? Sometimes ours would struggle to hear us or hear us correctly when changing a channel or something. I think this has more processing and everything so it's much better.

It's such a great feature that ended up being finicky. Hoping this fixes it and makes it amazing. Especially with the universal windows apps, could become a stellar streaming box.

So far, I want to say yes. It helps a ton to see what it is hearing, so you know how to re-emphasize what it misheard. Important feedback loop.

                    Re: Xbox One

It's will take time to iron out some things. The first time I told Cortana to "Watch ESPN", It loaded up the app. Then when I asked to "Watch NBA TV", it snapped in the upcoming game for GS and the Cavs for friday at 8:00. I just picked up my remote and turned the channel. All regular "Xbox" command don't work anymore.
Boy this habit is as bad as dope!!!

I don't usually go for modern platformers anymore, but the look of that was cool, the old timey movie or whatever

Just got my update. All I'm gonna say is they have some work to do with cortana. Yikes. I'll try to hang in there but voice controls were so much better last night. It's so much slower and the new stuff like "what is (insert name here) doing" is pretty much useless if you are trying to use a gamertag with the command.

And I can confirm watch ESPN does not work.
