If they do that I wouldn't be surprised if they shot themselves in the foot and give Microsoft a lead into the next gen. Again.Comment

Re: Xbox 720
Seen the ps4 thread? Sony just got a patent for making used games obsolete on the ps4 (as in once you put the game into the console that game can't be recognized on anything other than that specific console) and are currently debating on whether to implement it into the system or not.

Re: Xbox 720
Something that I've been thinking about recently is online gaming on the next gen systems.
These new systems are going to be processing so much more data per second can the networks keep up?
Is it going to be like playing the Dreamcast on dial-up back in 01?Comment

Re: Xbox 720
Networks have far more speed capabilities than what we are currently using.NFL: Green Bay Packers
MLB: Pittsburgh Pirates, Colorado Rockies
NBA: Denver Nuggets
NHL: Colorado Avalanche, Pittsburgh Penguins
NCAA: Air Force Falcons, Penn State Nittany LionsComment

Re: Xbox 720
Don't get me wrong I loved The Show and hated trading in every version from 08 to this year BUT considering how often I used the PS3 compared to the 360 it is a no brainer. 720 all the way, and of course more PC games.Comment

Re: Xbox 720
Not saying I won't get a PS4 eventually just that I see no reason to grab one within the first year of release.
If only PC had an NFL game....
The amount of games I've gotten off STEAM and Amazon at rediculous prices is just crazy. I hardly ever grab a game at release anymore (Wait for GOTY editions) and so by the time I decide to grab it it's 1/4 the price (or less) on STEAM etc..
Anyways 720 day one for sure.. PS4 eventually a year or so later.
** Subject to change if Sony releases some OMG!!! game that we've never seen before etc..Joshua:

Re: Xbox 720
Same here. I paid 600.00 for a PS3 and it was really jsut for the Show and eveything else was just a bonus. However the PS3 has simply become my BR player 90% of the time and gaming the other 10%.

If the PC had sport games other than FIFA, I don't know if I would need a console since most of the big games come to PC also. The only thing that keeps a console in my house is sport games and friends who don't have PC.
The last several years is where I really moved more to the console side, before that I was only a PC player and loved it. Yet I missed the NCAA games (Back then Madden was on PC). Now that almost all sports games don't go to PC it makes it much harder for sports guys like us to remain only on PC. I think developers really are losing money they could be making by putting out a console port to PC, hell the graphics being the same as console does not matter, just the ability to play the game on the PC does. Then add in the fact now we have excellent controller options like the 360 controller on PC and you have the perfect storm for sports games to exist on PC.Comment

Still, the filing of a patent is not necessarily an indication that the technology will actually be used.Comment
