The only rumored console for 2019 is a disc-less Xbox One Slim. Could be shown at GDC in March but personally, they should scrap that idea simply because why add more varying consoles to a generation that's less than two years from ending? Just makes no sense to me. And if the price is $200 which is also rumored and the Xbox One Slim is also $200, why would anyone choose the disc-less console for the same price? That makes no sense because you would be limiting yourself in how you can play games.

As for any next gen consoles, early dev kits could probably be known in March at GDC but with them being 18 months away, the specs wouldn't be final.

As for two versions of NBA 2K14, what exactly do you mean by that besides there being a last gen version and current gen version?

Actually the rumors are both Microsoft consoles will be shown at E3. A supposed disc less console that’s supposed to be $249 at 4 teraflops and the big boy console that’s supposed to be 12 teraflops.

General question for those who played Halo 5. As a single player gamer, is the game worth a play-through? Is the story and characters good? Thanks.

Those are both the next gen consoles. The cheaper console is the streaming console. There's rumors of an Xbox One disc less console that was supposed to be revealed back in January but obviously, it hasn't been. In other words, there's rumors of THREE consoles. One for this gen and two next gen.

Definitely worth it. It is one of the last best single player campaigns that exists this generation. Well that and Gears of War 4.

If you love strategy games, then this game is a must buy. Been playing it on PC for years. Looks like Paradox Interactive going to convert quite a few of their games over to the consoles.

This is a good game, but I’m enjoying this game a lot more due to the great sound.

I make use of Atmos via my headphones a ton, and it is remarkable. For one, even if something is not Atmos sound, Atmos still does a great job of simulating 7.1 in a headset. That means just watching TV with headphones is really, really good.

But there is also Netflix, and they have several titles that support Atmos specifically, and the results are even better. Like 4K or HDR, it doesn't show you Atmos in the description until you turn on your headset. Once you do, Netflix recognizes Atmos being active, and now you can see which movies and TV shows feature Atmos.

For as much TV as I watch late at night, Atmos has been completely worth the one time fee, which was $10 or $15. If you are in the market for a good gaming headset, I think Plantronic's Rig 800 comes with a free code. One of the headsets does.

Personally, I use either my BackBeat Pro 2's, or my more recent acquisition, the LucidSound LS35x.

I don’t play halo online at all and I had a blast playing through that campaign solo and with friends.

Yea man I highly agree the Atmos works great on the Xbox. I used to used these headphones for gaming and movies and they’re good.

But I HIGHLY recommend you try some good quality open back headphones for gaming and movies. You’ll be blown away. The sound stage they create makes Dolby atmos even more insane. I’m still blown away when I play sometimes. I use these now. They take it to a different level IMO.

                      Re: Xbox One

Quick question guys. I have a PS4 Pro and an original Xbox One currently, and planning on finally getting a 4K TV for my setup. Question is, should I spend the $350 or so to upgrade my original One to the One X? Or should I just wait until the new consoles come out?

Right now I think it'd be better to go with the upgrade because I assume that the PS5 will come out first and have full backwards compatibility... but if Microsoft goes an releases the new consoles early, I dont want to upgrade to the X only to get rid of it a year later.

                      Thoughts?

Get the Xbox One X asap IMO. No sense waiting because yeah the new stuff may come out but it's likely we're still a couple of years out on that IMO. If not more.

Remember, the money is made in software, hardware makers usually take a loss, so aside from worrying about the competition bringing hardware to market first they have no incentive to come out with a console. And they'll need a decent amount of games for a new console too, so another reason they will have to likely wait even if the hardware is ready sooner rather than later.

You can always trade in the OneX towards whatever comes next anyways. It will hold more value than the S or whatever you have now.

I tried my xbox x yesterday on a monitor and noticed mostly everything looks pixelated on the UI. Once you start the game it looks great and I know the UI is 1080P but I didn't expect it to look all pixelated. I never see this on my big screens I guess due to the big sizes compared to a monitor. Anyone else notice this?
