Call me jaded, but Dead Rising isn't looking all that great to me anymore. Zombies repeating the same canned animations and strange physics in some of the videos, like the ones where the guy is driving through the horde of zombies - oh, and it's dark as **** (or as it is called nowadays: "gritty").
It just doesn't look as good as it did when it was first revealed. I think it's an animation problem more than anything; there is no real weight to the running/jumping animations of the player character, in fact it looks like they just straight copy/pasted the animation from Dead Rising 2. Same goes for the driving of the car and the lack of impact when you hit zombies; it just isn't convincing (maybe I've been spoiled by GTAV physics).
What annoys me most about DR3, though, is that they have a crazy amount of zombies onscreen, but you can see that outside of a certain radius around the player their AI is deactivated (presumably to save on processing) and they stand still like statues, until the player gets close enough and they suddenly begin to move. It's really annoying once you notice it because it's something you start to notice everywhere in the game. It's a shame that they couldn't find a better way of masking how limited the engine is at handling a lot of zombies on screen at once.
There are also the performance issues. The DF framerate tests show that the game isn't locked to 30fps at all and there are frequent dips, even sometimes to below 20. They probably should have pulled a Nintendo and delayed it to try to salvage a better performance.

The game still looks somewhat entertaining, so I hope at least the performance issues get sorted out with a patch or something so that I can try it when I eventually get an Xbox.
